Maybe because I’m in the south but I’m not seeing this. I have 5 and see babies everywhere. Yes some are the immigrants but lots of natives with children.

While I, at almost 40 think of Wealth as having a large loving family.

Amen, brother! I, at over 70, feel the same. I have five children and (so far) four grandchildren, and they are my greatest earthly treasure.

I am also quite wealthy, because for the past 15 years I have saved over half my takehome pay. It's not that hard to save money: I just follow the wisdom told to me by my best financial advisor: "Pay cash, or go without". Thank you, Grandmother.

Babies cost too much! College expenses for 4 years are well north of $100,000.

The money you pay is not really that much for an exceptionally made pair of shoes that are comfortable and last forever. In my line of work, I gotta have something nice on or it's a negative.

Their belts are $500, but totally worth it. They will stay in style and last until you die. Price per wear - 13 cents a day - if I only live ten more years.

Nailed it. Birth rates are a fake problem dreamed up by globalists.

I live on the west coast. My priest went into the maternity ward to anoint a dying baby. He remarked that he had never seen so many babies in the ward before.

Makes me wonder about the credibility of this story.

Infantile & shiftless young men too. 1 just left his mother’s basement and moved in with my niece. 30 years old, unemployed and unemployable. My brother & SiL are overjoyed (sarcasm).

If we had lower taxes for new parents we might get our birth rate up.

THE BORDER WALL: What it’s REALLY ABOUT!

As anyone with a brain saw during the “Kavanaugh Klusterhump”, the Marxist/Socialist Democrats on the Left (but I repeat myself, thrice) will do ANYTHING to seize and retain P.O.W.E.R. Senator Graham got it exactly right during that would-be lynching.

In addition to their having philosophically captured HUGE slugs of the academic, judicial, administrative and, yes, ecclesiastical sectors beginning back in the Wilson and Roosevelt eras, their Marxist Socialist Utopia was not developing quickly enough for them.

Comes then the so-called “Feminist Revolution” of the 70s during which the Left convinced millions of American women that having, raising children and maintaining a home (and “baking cookies”!) was BENEATH THEM. The feminists succeeded in persuading women that despite the historically valid fact that mothers performed one of the most vital activities necessary to preserve a national culture: The passing down to the young the values FORMERLY considered essential to the maintenance of the culture. Millions of now “emancipated” women fled the home for the workplace and, as a direct result, the birthrate dropped to around 1.2 child per couple, below the 2.1 figure necessary to offset the mortality rate. Our native population is SHRINKING and that trend continues. (Obviously, this topic requires a separate analysis and essay.)

Over the post-Wilson/FDR years, the Left – aided by quasi-socialist Republicans – erected a welfare system designed to lure the less “ambitious” among us to the dole. Not only have the less “ambitious” native born availed themselves of those programs, so have the estimated 22 million who have managed to slip through our currently porous border. Thanks also mainly to the efforts of Democrats when they have succeeded in gaining majorities in Congress and the White House, eligibility rules for those programs have been relaxed for most of those 22 million. Though they probably needn’t have done so, Democrats continually remind those scores of millions of welfare recipients – legal and ILLEGAL – that they owe their fealty and their VOTES – again, legal and ILLEGAL (think Broward County here and only God knows how many others) to – THEIR DEMOCRAT BENEFACTORS.

Which brings us to today.

These new, improved leftist Democrats – and some very stupid and short-sighted National Chamber of Commerce GOP business types seeking bottom line enhancing slave wage workers - want these mostly young, physically fit, military age MEN to fill in the ranks of their already significant cohort of loyal welfare constituent Democrat voters in order to assure their ascent to and hold on the political power necessary to fully birth their cockamamie Utopian tyranny despite the history of tragic and deadly failure for which such systems are infamous.

And those millions of young, physically fit military age men (an unknown number of whom are MS13 and other criminals)? They will become the modern equivalent of Hitler’s Storm Troopers or Einsatzgruppen the ruling Democrats will conscript to ruthlessly – and successfully — crush the resistance to their Utopian tyranny by the by-then minority of remaining Americans who remembered and cherished the Founders’ vision of liberty and promise for this place — this IDEA – called “AMERICA”.

THE BABY BUST.......

The all-time high birth count in the U.S. was in 2007 at 4,316,233. However,
that number has been steadily declining in the past decade as part of what
some experts are calling “The Baby Bust”—an opposite coining to the “Baby
Boom” that occurred in the U.S. from 1946 to 1964 during which the country
saw a significant rise in births.

My wife and I spent Christmas alone with a friendly cat who used to belong to our youngest daughter until she got a job promotion to Tokyo. Still, we got to talk to two of our three daughters and four of our five grandchildren, so I consider us lucky. Last year, we spent Christmas and New Year's and saw all three daughters and grandchildren.

Wish we'd had more. The youngest daughter (in Japan) has a career which has taken off like a rocket.

The middle one married a good breadwinner and went from employee to freelance, so works whenever she wants and concentrates on being very involved in her daughter's life. They could easily afford to buy a house now on their income but tells me they won't. They like renting in a gated housing community because all the upkeep is provided by the landlord . . . as does everything which need fixing.

My oldest and her hubby have a decent sized house which has appreciated more than our retirement savings which was once worth more than the house they bought. She is working in a job which pays more than the college degree job she had before getting married and her husband is home to look after our cute little rugrats when she goes to work.

FWIW, Japan's population peaked in 2006 and is expected to decline for the next generation or two before it starts to rebound. My daughter and family are what they consider "highly desireable immigrants" over there because they tick all the boxes-- high income/high taxpayer, children. familiarity with and appreciation of the Japanese language and culture, near zero chance of becoming a ward of the state or a threat to public safety.

Other than trying to attract HDIs and making life easier for their locals to have children, the Japanese are planning on ways to cope with a declining population, understanding that importing economic drains from $#*+hole countries will only mean a more rapid drain of their economy, resources and culture. Her neighborhood in Tokyo (Minato Ward) has the highest concentration of foreigners in Japan and it is still only about 10%. They have very high standards to get a visa there.
