Once I heard about his trip, I was thinking what a courageous first lady (and President) because no doubt there were security concerns. I know other Presidents have made such trips. But I don’t know that any other First Ladies have done so....and I use the term “ladies” on purpose.

My feeling is that he had no choice but to take her because I imagine she insisted that she go with him. Has he even made a trip, as of late, without her? She is truly his other half and she wants the world to know it. She is a power in and of herself and she reeks of unselfish love and devotion for her husband and her family. Americans have always responded to the maternal image that is so strong in Melania. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the President and First Lady.
