You claim that the only conservatives are military people, so you have authority over civilians who otherwise claim a stance.

Since some military people are Democrats and you don’t claim authority over them, are they your leadership?

He was good long ago as a financial conservative re government spending.

Now Lambro preens himself by boasting of his Reagan connection and Pulitzer nomination for anti-government-spending publications back in the day.

But today-despite his ego-boosting youthful pic of himself that heads his columns--his grey, aging self has climbed onto the Never Trump Train.

Now Lambro is happy to directly call-out The President as a liar and charlatan, joining the likes of Schumer and Pelosi in trashing Trump's call for a physical barrier to illegal immigration.

Despite this columns mewling apologetic for his new Dem-pleasing, Trump-bashing position, Lambro stands naked and shamed as a 21st Century version of Benedict Arnold.

Your wording isn’t very clear - but my feeling has been that unless someone spends some part of their lives serving their country, taking risks for their country, what claim do they have to be conservatives?

I have served. I have given part of my life and part of my body to protect my country and the men serving with me. Many of my friends lost their lives.

I am suspicious of professional conservatives, like the writer who was the subject of this thread, speaking for conservatism without risking anything.

Agree. And does he even understand what “Read my lips, no new taxes” means to voters, and what it means when that promise is broken?

Given all the conservative creds he claims, I would have to assume YES. And if he understands the damage Bush did to his political career, not to mention the country, by double-crossing the Republican base, then he should EASILY understand why the wall needs to be funded, whether or not he (wrongly) thinks a bunch of drones and sensors can do the same job.

The fact that he is attacking Trump over the wall, something that is a puny, puny, portion of the federal budget tells me that he is simply another DERANGED and MENTALLY SICK former conservative who cannot stand the fact that Trump answers to his voters, rather than the Cook Brothers and other big-money types who want open borders.

You're a Democrat if you don't care if a Lefty Democrat get appointed to ANY Federal court.

This makes ANY Never-Trumper a Democrat.

If Lambro told me he was OK with a Democrat getting appointed to a Federal court, then he would be a Democrat, and therefore an enemy.

began a weekly, half hour program on the university’s WBUR radio station where I defended the conservative position against liberal campus leaders. The dean of our college was the moderator. The Boston Globe promoted that show on its radio listings.

What an idiot. We are at war with the scum at the Boston Globe and the deans of most colleges. They haven't started shooting us literally quite yet. Find a nice pasture and park this guy there.
