How much credence do any of you attach to this prediction?

Personally, I have a hard time believing that ads actually get clicked on, on purpose, by real people, at any serious volume. You can’t use the Internet without mentally learning to filter ads out of your vision. Do a Google search and watch yourself mentally filter the ads out of the results.

Tim Pool is a gasbag.

Watch about the 1st 3 minutes of his videos and then close them out.

He repeats his points over and over for about 5 minutes most times.

He’s worse than Loofah O’Gasbag.

His “red-pilling” is just taking a lot longer ...

I stopped at “George HW Bush was quietly executed in a plea deal.” That’s when I laughed out loud.

But compared to network TV news, CNN etc, the Internet is the pillar of truth.

The biggest difference between the internet and "news" agencies like CNN is that we KNOW the internet is full of a lot of crap, but CNN and news media in general always presented themselves as infallible sources of unbiased news - which they never were. NEVER. They presented themselves as learned pillars of integrity, but the internet has helped expose them as just another group of loudmouths in the public square, no better than your average blogger.

The real question is, do i care if someone is a bot or not? Nope- I’m secure enough in my beliefs and opinions that what someone on the Internet says isn’t going to affect me one way or the other...

The issue at hand in this article has nothing to do with some AI bot pretending to be a person so they can hold a conversation. It deals with bots used to simulate real traffic in order to generate web site hits, video views, web searches, etc. as a means of cheating advertisers out of money. You would not interact with these type of bots, but they could affect "trends" so that the type of content promoted to everyone when they visit, say, Youtube, would be altered by these fake hits.

Knew that when i clicked on some click bait about Woodstock. The comments were obviously taken from a book....and showed little attention to detail.

Need to do simple sanity checks. This was posted here a few days ago:

The number of murders in the US is about 17,000 a year which means for that graphic to be true, 1 in 3 murders would be by illegals. The stats that I found were less than 1 in 1000 (CPB) to 9% (cis.org going by federal criminal convictions by non-citizens). Even using the CIS numbers, 1 in 10 is not 1 in 3.

Also doing a simple search of crimes in the news shows lots of domestic murders for every illegal immigrant murder.

Oh, and another thing, there is not “US Bureau of Statistics”. There is one of those in Australia which is probably the source of the reference. In other words: fake.

re: "How Much of the Internet Is Fake? Turns Out, a Lot of It, Actually."

Who was it that made this particular observation of a notable personality:

"Every word she writes is a lie, including 'and' and 'the'."

I feel that way about most of the nooze stories appearing on the internet ...

What do your numbers say for fraud, identity fraud, rape, robbery, burglary, assault, battery, drug sales, drunk driving, Americans maimed and or run over and killed by drunk illegals etc?

There’s an entire “New Media” complex being developed on Youtube etc...

Tim Pool, Matt Christiansen, Styxhexenhammer666 and Paul Joseph Watson, to name a few. Nevermind Joe Rogan who’s videos get 10 million views each.

Then there’s an entirely different class of Creators. The so-called “Intellectual Dark Web”. Jordan Peterson, Gad Saad, Dave Rubin, Stefan Molyneux, Sargon of Akkad etc.

Lately, I’m following the Anti-Islam channels by David Wood, Christian Prince and the Apostate Prophet. Endless entertainment.
