As I pointed out repeatedly the d-bags obviously WANTED the "KKK" to march. There was no impetus or precedent that required the city gubmint to grant a permit to march downtown. If the "liberal" denizens were afraid of being sued (or some nonsense) for refusing to grant the people they supposedly loathe so much a permit, they could have only granted a permit to march on the edge of town. That was the setup...throwing red meat to the hungry wannabe commies in C'ville.
So behold...a nutjob from Ohio who they tried unsuccessfully to paint as a rightwing extremist gets life, a dumb woman (who amongst the other idiots who went downtown that day) dies, 2 cops die in a helicopter crash (I am sure that got cheers from the mob)...all so the "liberals" can dramatise their anti-passion play and no one can remember what caused all of this to happen in the first place.
I am sure there will be a line of morons who will insist it was all about a statue or racism or something, but in strictly political terms the district that encompasses Charlottesville is still represented by a Republican in congress, 2 Democrat delinquents in the Senate, and the elected town council still gets tingles up their legs when they see a Che Guevara t-shirt.
Interesting notes: The nutjob driver got a life sentence plus plus. A good friend of mine was on the jury and the word I got was his woman lawyer was really bad. A second year law student could have gotten the trial moved out of C'ville, and although the threshold for Not Guilty by Insanity is very high in Virginia, the guy is a for real headcase as was proven in the trial. He needs to be in an institution, but although that plays perfect for all the idiots who think all conservatives are crazy, their Kabuki theater got people killed...as it always does. The proof to me that whatever scam they were trying to pull off failed, is how little the national media coverage the trial got. Also, after all was said and done, the only people who followed the rules required by the city permits to march was the KKK!! What does that tell you?
My guess is if someone had walked around they would have found the parked buses and holding areas for signs and props... I was a volunteer with The Woodlawn Organization many years ago... Organizing looks easy to people who have never done it... and the gullible buy it.
What was your friend’s impression of the jurors? Were they biased against the guy? Apparently your friend agreed with their reasoning since he opted not to hang the jury.
