But in a very different real world from the Fairmont Orchid or Pacific Heights, other people each day deal with the results of open borders and sanctuary jurisdictions. The results are often nihilistic and horrific. Here in California’s Central Valley over the holidays we were reminded of the wages of illegal immigration in general — and of California’s sanctuary-city laws in particular, which restrict formal cooperation between local and state law enforcement with federal immigration authorities in matters of deporting illegal aliens under detention.

(snip) -- We should redefine the entire morality of multifaceted illegal immigration.

Immorality is undermining, in Confederate fashion, federal law, and normalizing exemptions that allow felons such as Garcia and Arriaga to wreak havoc on the innocent and defenseless. Too often the architects of open borders and sanctuary jurisdictions are not on the front lines where the vulnerable suffer the all-too-real consequences of distant others, who can rely on their own far greater safety nets when their grand abstractions become all too concrete.

And, finally, we forget that so often the victims of illegal aliens are (in California where one in four residents was not born in the U.S.) legal immigrants like officer Singh, and members of the Hispanic community like the late Mr. Soto. Polls show that support for open borders is not popular and most Americans want an end to illegal immigration and catch and release, as well as stricter enforcement of current federal immigration laws.

I have said repeatedly in many public forums that amnesty is immoral - immoral towards the MILLIONS of LEGAL immigrants.

Amnesty flips the big giant bird at all legal immigrants. It as much as says: You were dumb stupid idiots, neither you nor your children nor your children’s children deserve any applause for your efforts, cause all you had to do was join the masses of illegals and then wait, and eventually all would be forgiven. And even meanwhile, once you had babies here, they became legal citizens and that fact would help prevent you from being deported, over sympathy against “breaking up the family”.

Kid IMMIGRANTS who have just “started the citizenship process” are not yet Americans of any kind...they may be potential Americans, but they are not Americans...real or illegal...

Its a process...its not automatic...

Yes they completed much of the ‘process’ towards becoming an American citizen while they were still back in their own countries, but they still have a short way to go...

Just as a person is either an IMMIGRANT or they are not, a person is either an American citizen or they are not...

At the start of the process is not the time to hand our blue ribbons...that comes after the ceremony on the actual day...

I know...I did all the process...I was not allowed to vote while I was in the “started” phase or the process, but I was handed several American citizen type items at the end, including invitations to register to vote in that state...

Please don’t call IMMIGRANTS American citizens...they are not...

Bush League Republicans did not care that we did not want our country fundamentally transformed into an Hispanic majority bilingual country.
They were determined to make it a happen anyway and the Democrats were only too eager to help them.

We are 30+ years and 30+ million people down the road to becoming North Mexico with little hope of reversing it.

We elected Trump too late to even slow it down.
