They are not blind to the issues of the voters, they are diametrically opposed to securing the borders and enforcing the laws.
They INVITED those 30 million illegal aliens here with their 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement.

I remember the 2012 debates where Romney clobbered Obama in the first debate and then became Captain Milquetoast in the next debate.
It was, as if, Romney had been told by his ‘puppet masters’ following that 2012 debate that he was only ‘running’ for President and should not even consider ‘becoming’ President.
