As for China, they don’t care how many casualties they have. They have more than enough people to spare.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information but their hardware is not more sophisticated than ours by any stretch of the imagination. However, they do have a larger army p, I’ll give you that. But, the U.S. will never deploy troops onto mainland China. So, their headcount is irrelevant.

True - BUT, Japan’s whole economy was not 100% dependent on us like China is today.
For China to pull a “Pearl Harbor” sneak attack on 2 of our carries is certainly suicidal for two reasons: our counter-attack would destroy China and their economy would totally collapse, then their people would rebel and the Commies would lose control.
They are far too smart to commit suicide.
That seems to be the thinking of at least one Chinese “admiral” who delivered some rather incendiary remarks at a recent military conference. (We’ll get back to why “admiral” is in scare quotes in a moment.) 24 Trident II missiles per sub
12 MIRV warheads per Trident (reduced by treaty, but do you feel lucky?)
475 Kt yield per W88 warhead (for comparison, Nagasaki bomb was 15 Kt)
