O’Rourke... that’s a good Irish name, isn’t it?

Why are they calling this guy ‘Hispanic’?

Just as Irish as “O’Malley”.

(Mostly: the name “Rourke”, as well as “Roderick” and “Rory”, apparently has a Norse origin in the name Hroþekr, “famous king”, which has some similarities to the name of the Danish king Hroþgar in “Beowulf”.)

The guy is literally 0% Hispanic. But he’s got an Hispanic nickname, and that’s good enough!

And here’s where Elizabeth Warren must be kicking herself. If she had only picked a Cherokee nickname for herself years ago, she’d be President of the United States today.
