The Democrats wasted their opening day, as their legislation passed is going nowhere, but being thrown in the nearest Capital building garbage can. If I were Pelosi & Schumer, I would give Trump the 5.7 billion dollars for the Border Wall right now.
Folks this game is over. In fact with Muslim Congress critters publicly calling our POTUS, Trump vile, gutter names....this Democrat controlled congress is finished before it even starts.

Wait until the food stamps run out at the end of January. This will be Pelosi and Schumers tipping point. They will have to fund the wall so their voters will get their bennies. Who is the food stamp going to blame? The dumocrats who they rely on for the handouts or POTUS. They will call the dumocrats and demand they fund the wall.
Thing is, this appropriation request of $25B with the first $5B this year, is literally nothing the fed.gov. Last tax season’s IRS refunds were $212B, $25B is effectively petty cash.
If I were Trump, I’d up the ante, and ask for the full $25B in funding now; why go through this with these knuckleheads every year?
They'll end up giving him $4 billion or so and both sides will call it a victory. That will probably take until into February.
Getting regular budget bills passed was actually a pretty strategic accomplishment of the Ryan Congress. It set the stage for averting the regular Republican cave-in.
