He was removed from his post about a decade ago and was so infrequently in the press that when I saw his name I assumed I was going to be reading his obituary. If the NYT assumes that his remarks are so harmful and wrong, where was it that they reserved objection for the documentary maker who amplified and spread his remarks? Otherwise, it would just be an old man alone with his thoughts, only able to share them with people he had direct contact with. If the ideas are beyond the pale, what is the NYT guilty of in repeating them?
