Agree 100%. McConnell supports Trump only if the chamber of commerce won’t throw a fit. Proof? He took reconcilliation off the table completely when the house passed the wall. Only would have needed 51 votes. He. Just. Wouldn’t.

Also, he’s to blame for the loss of Sessions AL seat. Moe Brooks would have won primary and election, but McConnell put the word out no money to Moe. Instead, it all went to Strange. 100% Mitch. The turtle hates Moe Brooks, because he enthusiastically supports the House Freedom Caucus guys.

AL people were torched enough to reject strange, but Moe would have won if he had $ support.

Look it up. It’s the truth.

McConnell took reconciliation off the table for one important reason: It enabled him to hide the embarrassing reality that he didn't even have 50 votes for the House bill -- let alone 60.

Frankly, I'm surprised the Chamber of Commerce doesn't get behind this wall in a very public way. The effectiveness of the wall is limited anyway (it does nothing to stop millions of people here on expired visas, for example), and they can easily trade their support for the wall for something else they really want like expanded H1-B visas.

I think there's something else going on here that has nothing to do with the wall. That's why the GOP and Trump waited until the final days of the last session of Congress to go through that whole charade.
