A man was arrested late Saturday in the shooting death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes, who was killed in a drive-by shooting while sitting in the backseat of her mothers car in Houston last month, police said.
Eric Black Jr., 20, was charged with capital murder following the deadly shooting on Dec. 30, Harris County Sheriffs Office announced in a news release Sunday. Black, who investigators identified as a suspect based on a tip, reportedly admitted to taking part in the shooting.

Moments after police announced Blacks arrest, Barnes family lawyer, Lee Merritt, wrote in an Instagram post that a second suspect, Larry Woodruffe, 24, was arrested in the deadly shooting. Woodruffe is believed to be the shooter in the incident, according to Merritt.

Currently police suggest this might be a case of mistaken identity which begs the question about how? Maybe the right car, but wrong occupants? Who else uses the car?
And, of course, why? Drugs?
...reports do say this might be gang related. Surprised? No.
Many kids are shot and killed in the inner cities this one got attention because they thought that white racist did it. They trip over themselves for these types of stories facts be damned
The initial reports was that it was a white male in a pickup truck. The media ran with that. Turns out that it was a drive by shooting.
I am glad they caught the killer at least.
Well, since it’s black on black violence, dog bites man, it will quickly fall out of the news cycle.
Crime in Democrat run cities kills another child. Where is the left’s outrage?

That’s what I was going to post.
I dunno, the guy in the top picture doesn't look very thin.
I thought one of the occupants of the vehicle gave that description, for the drawing of the imaginary white man. I assume she lied to avoid retaliation?
Light skinned black man. Facial features are very similar. Jumped to racial attack instead of gang related drive-by. May well have been a gang initiation-go shoot someone and you are in. Common.
“I thought one of the occupants of the vehicle gave that description, for the drawing of the imaginary white man. I assume she lied to avoid retaliation?”
Which begs the question — Did any of the occupants of the vehicle know the suspected shooter?
My understanding of the article is that this guy was “involved” but they have also arrested a separate person (the person in the sketch) who they believe is the shooter.
Just the same though it is not surprising that is was not a race crime as initially reported.
Black on Black crime... Another thing you don’t hear on the news...
Yeah, same nose. Same light colored eyes. Easy to see the resemblance.
Not!
Also, the sister saw...and described the suspect. Either she needs glasses, or the Harris County SO artist needs a hearing test and/or more art lessons.
Total BS.
Yep, they’ll drop it like a hot potato. It was leading the MSM broadcasts due to the racial aspect, Shaq getting involved, etc. It seemed a very odd scenario from the start; random white guy on the road targets a black family in the early morning hours.
Sorry Buddy, no Ghetto Lottery today.
Whoa Nelly! The local Houston race-baiters were on the radio and TV telling everybody that this was a hate crime because it was a white guy driving a pickup truck that shot the little girl.
