Twenty pupils at a Beijing primary school were wounded on Tuesday in a hammer attack that police said had left three seriously injured, state news agency Xinhua reported.
Police in the Xicheng district of the city said in a statement on Weibo that they had detained a 49-year-old male suspect surnamed Jia, who was a former repair worker at the school.

No, China has plenty of “left over women”.
In Chinese society couples are expected to marry young and have a child immediately. The mans parents then move in with the couple and care for the child.
If a woman pursues education or career instead of marriage she is out of luck. If she isn’t married by 30 she probably never will be unless she is lucky enough to attract a foreigner.
The most she can usually hope for is to be someone’s mistress. Or if really lucky she catches the eye of a marriage minded divorced man.
China has left over men as well but most of them want young wives ready to pop out a kid in 9 months.
Crazy society they have.
