Delusional, but also hateful/resentful. She seems to have had a pretty good life in the US, despite all the ‘bad Americans’. Does she think that what exists here exists just because America exists - independent of the people?
It’s as though many of these people look at the US as a watering hole, that just happens to exist, and that we just happen to live here with access to the watering hole - with no role in its existence. Worse, we are selfishly trying to prevent other people from coming to this preexisting watering hole that we’ve contributed nothing to.

Yes, she does. But she views these things differently. You imply America, I presume you mean what I think are still American values, exists because of the people. Not independent of them. She doesn't see an American people, but a bunch of peoples, living in America, aka the hemisphere. The well off people need to take care of the less well off people, throughout the hemisphere. Why I would work to do that, I don't know.
