Money and power. I believe they are paid very well to keep borders open and support illegal immigration. Businesses that want the cheap labor express, special interest groups, special interest billionaires. I personally think the money is the big deal- campaign money ++++ in my opinion. I think the potential votes are a bonus reason.

The globalist have zero use for a independent, free, sovereign, powerful country like the U.S. So they do everything they can to weaken, undermine and compromise it while looting it's treasure they give it to other countries.
Pre-Trump they did this to bring down the U.S. to level of other 3rd world countries. It's so much easier for the super wealthy globalist control ignorant people and hoard all the resources and power for themselves.
It's much easier to bring in and control ignorant uneducated low wage 3rd world types. They work for dirt cheap with a smile, they don't complain much about things like taxes and regulation, they're ignorant of the Constitution and laws and they support the people who give them some freebies for votes and pander to them around the clock.
It's why the leftist ruling class in CA hate what is left of the white middle class. Their agenda has no use for them so they've figured out a way to bring in their replacements.
It's worked great too, as tens of hundreds of thousands of former CA middle class residence have been bailing out for decades.
If you were going to take over a country, would you prefer the people be educated, armed and self sufficient free people? Or a population full of ignorant people who believe what they're told and stay in-line, because anything is better than the sh*t holes they come from?
It's all about total control of the planet and everyone in it, by the super wealthy powerful. And the U.S. is a big road block to their evil agenda.
