The union representing the United States' air traffic controllers is suing the Trump administration over pay that's frozen as part of the partial government shutdown.

The Federal Aviation Administration's air traffic controllers are among the 420,000 federal employees who have been deemed essential and have been ordered to work without pay during the shutdown, which began on Dec. 22 due to an impasse over funding for a wall along the U.S. southern border.

This story developing. Check back for updates.

Keep the Virginia system federal and make the employees necessary in a shutdown. Give the airport employees to the airports.

the Air traffic controllers at each airport don’t work for the airport. It would be like asking each branch of the military to turn over the employees to the city or town that the base is in. not gonna work.

The average salary for all CEOs in the U.S. in 2016, which, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, was $194,350. These same union leaders who criticize the salaries of CEOs earned on average $252,370 in 2016 — nearly $60,000 more than their private-sector counterparts.

I am not buying the “without pay” part.

One of my friends is an air traffic controller and his paycheck yesterday was -$96.00. No pay but a deduction for health insurance.

Sue Trump to do what? They can't force him to sign a bill or give in to Democrat demands.

"Sue Trump to do what?"

Perhaps the courts could find that any agreement between the union and the government which required work without payment is unenforceable as "involuntary servitude" which was outlawed by the Thirteenth Amendment.

The judge could order the contract to be set aside, order that the workers are not obligated to work, and that the Treasury of the United States shall issue checks for all back pay immediately.

Unfortunately for the workers, if they authorized their union to make a "work without pay during shutdowns" agreement with the government, then the judge should find that they have no case.

I think a warning would be warranted. No doubt about that. However, today, with the Leftist judges out there, I don’t know if Reagan could pull it off any longer.

They are affected in a round about way. But it isn’t by numbers.

The attack on Trump is union generated. They are supporting the parts of the airline process that is directly effected by the shutdown like the TSA people. The people the union is using to create the attack in most cases is a sham. But in the eyes of the public, it is a way to “shame” Trump to the voters and create more unrest during his administration to win votes in the next election.

The libs did the same things to Reagan, both Bushes, and now Trump while they sat on their hands, (mouths really), during the Clinton and Obama administrations when some really horrible things happened that threatened US safety.

Factually, a number of their complaints during the Trump tenure are carbon copies of what Obama did during his time like banning certain groups from entry into the country to the building of the wall on the southern border. It’s all to create unrest even though a vast majority of it is not factual, just sensationalism. And it’s success is measured by the quality of the voter that buys into it by the media presentation. This is why they are pushing for large amounts of uneducated, hands out illegals to get into the polls gladly using your tax dollars to buy them off.
