My understanding is that someone from NBC contacted the Trump campaign about this tape and that the Clinton campaign was going to release days before the election. Trump Campaign wanted to release it ASAP so they could recover from it. The Clinton Campaign didn’t want to be outscooped by the Trump campaign released in early October.

Okay. What is strange is how the Clinton Campaign can determine when the media can report on an important scoop.
