No one has a right to serve in the military. Transgenderism is a mental disorder, and a sex change operation is no minor surgery. It’s a very major event requiring medical care for the rest of one’s life. No one is going to stop a person from joining if they serve in their physical/true sex, meet military standards, and are willing to delay their sex change until after service, but there’s absolutely no good reason to enlist someone who knowingly has mental issues and has undergone sex change mutilation requiring ongoing drugs and care.
I mean, be serious folks. People can be rejected for all sorts of physical abnormalities. People are routinely discharged for failure to meet physical standards, like inability to do enough pushups, situps, or run a given distance within a required time frame. Why should trans-genders be able to join and force US taxpayers to foot the bills for their psychological and physical treatments??? How is THAT in the nation’s military defense interests?
