President Trump said late Wednesday that he would deliver his State of the Union address after the ongoing partial government shutdown is over.
"As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address," Trump wrote in a tweet. "I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over."
Trump clarified earlier statements suggesting he may do an “alternative” State of the Union, writing that he was not seeking an alternative venue because "there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber."
"I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!" he added.
People need to understand that Nancy won this round. Just like Trump won the round of denying Nancy military flights overseas. Winning a round doesn’t mean she won the war though. Trump knows that Gorsuch and Kavanaugh should lead to Trump’s ultimate victory. I fully expect a court battle will decide that a wall will be built.
Pelosi has trump in a box. No money for the wall. If he declares an emergency she will take it to court in California 9th district and it will be stopped. The wall will not be built during appeals because trump will defer to judges even though it’s an eminency and judges should not have standing.
If he doesn’t build the wall or start major sections by the 20 election, he will lose and the wall will never be built.
He is running out of options and the only wall i see is her not negotiating while he is trying to. He doesn’t have many cards and is running out of time and she knows it.
Trump 2020 will be seen as the only person who can bring the country together.

He can bring this up over and over and over again.
Anyone who thinks this is "caving" is simply thinking emotionally (like a liberal).

However, I believe POTUS Trump could have really “blown the doors off”, and really done some damage to DNC Uniparty global socialists elite, by giving his SOTU in a number of different iconoc forums, packed with legal immigrants, conservative legislators, and injured recovering service members, and others.

I understand and have had the same thought myself, but I think that would be a mistake. Remember during the debates when Trump decided he was going to boycott one of them and have his own rally for service people? It wasn’t a public relations win for him, and ultimately cost him the exposure that the debate would have given him. I think this would be the same thing.
The Democrats aim is to simply usurp the Presidency, since they can’t force him out of it. They are overstepping wildly.

If the Ninth Circus tries to make null and void a presidential declaration of state of emergency... if it even ATTEMPTS to do such a thing... then even the most ignorant should get a clue about how out of control it has become.

Really? Over something like this? Anyone who withdraws support for Trump over the where and when of the SOTU wasn’t all that supportive in the first place.

POTUS, Trump has made a very wise & correct move in declaring that he will deliver his SOTU address in the House of Representatives Chamber after the Federal Shutdown has ended. For those folks that claim Trump caved...they are dead wrong.
First, giving the SOTU anywhere but in the House Chamber would have let Nancy Pelosi off the hook and many of the Democrat “Fake Media” would have not broadcast it live...thus limiting the impact of the speech on the American public.
Second, when POTUS, Trump does deliver the SOTU speech the House gallery chamber will be filled with “Angel Moms, Dads and Families, including Children, along with Venezuelans & with Cubans, which will clearly inform the American People that Trump is going after both Venezuela & Cuba (Which, by the way, their populations, are both now starving food daily).
Nancy Pelosi will be forced to be present or she will not show up and be in hiding. The nutcase Democrat Caucus will make total fools of themselves in the public view of millions of Americans watching on TV, live stream, the internet, etc.
Smart move, POTUS, Trump, As usual that strategic mind of yours is always working for the benefit of the American people.
If I were an Democrat, which I am not and never will be, I would vote today in the Senate, to give Trump his 5.7 Billion bucks for Southern Wall Funding. If the Democrats miss this chance, the price they will pay down the road will be much more painful and devastating then they ever dreamed of it being. Smart move...President, Trump!!!

My question is where would Pelosi give the Democrat rebuttal to the President’s SOTU if he gives it somewhere other than where it has been traditionally held since President Wilson?

This now lives in the confused brain of Pelosi during the Wall negotiations. She knows that as soon as the Government re-opens, Trump has the stage for 60-90 minutes and she will be filmed with all of her facial tics and chewing motions.
Trump has basically said “when this is over, you will die slowly of torture”.
Think that helps he get to sleep at night?
