Why did Stone give testimony before Congress? Did he really believe they would not use that testimony against him? He willingly walked into their trap.

I do not believe that anything will be done about either. There are two major political parties working to prevent it. The Republican Party and the Democrat Party. Several subsets are working within the two major entities. The driving force within the Democrat Power is power and control. The driving force within the Republican Party is money and perks. As long as the perks and money continues to flow freely the Republicans are more than content to be the Democrats whipping boys and boogiemen. Along came Donald Trump and both political parties united to eliminate him.
The Mueller indictment is centered around that wikileaks hacked the DNC. server. The FBI requested, but did not receive, physical access to the DNC servers. The FBI did obtain copies of the servers and all the information on them, as well as access to forensics, from CrowdStrike, a third-party cybersecurity company that reviewed the DNC servers. In testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Comey said that access through Crowdstrike was an “appropriate substitute” and termed the firm a “highly respected private company.”
If the FBI does not have physical evidence of the server how does Mueller have any case at all?
If I took the 10 allowances right now (instead of 5) I might get a call from HR. I would certainly get a call from HR when the IRS garnished my wages the next year. Yes, those are just stupid excuses, but I think a lot of use are beholden to our employers.
What he really means is Crowdstrike is deep state. They also have 200 million in venture capital. They are also run by a former Russian hacker.
So far it has been immunity for HRC’s folks but arrest for process crimes for Trump’s. These are frightening times.

So the question is, is the country on edge? And the answer is no. Some people are on edge because they don't like what is going on, but that does not mean the country is on edge.
I agree with you. I am not unaware and I'm sure I have aways been awake. I have always been keenly aware of the breakdown of the institutions/culture going way back to the 70s.
But I am sorry to inform you, most of the country doesn't care or is content with the way things are and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
A country that can easily put the dems back in charge of the House and a country in which 56% want Medicare for all is not a country on edge.
The country is already gone. It is lost. Trump can only make some changes around the edges and that's it. And when he is gone, perhaps as soon as two years, his changes can be easily undone, so at most Trump is a small speed bump and nothing more.
It is unbelievable the number of people who do not know the truth about the DOJ and FBI and they will never know. None on the other side will ever be investigated and tried for their crimes. A few, such as Comey may be prosecuted for perjury, but none will ever be tried for their true crimes and I don't see anyone willing to do anything about it.
I don't see any marches on DC for justice, I don't see Congressmen/Senators being harrassed, followed and groups visiting their offices to ensure justice is served.
Just look at Canada. They changed their health care to single payer and has been a disaster. Their citizens just take it. If it takes 16 months to see a doctor about a bad knee, they just limp around in pain and no one is held accountable. I know this person with the bad knee and I am aware of other horror stories, but I don't see anyone north of border upset and protesting and marching. They are content and take it and go about their daily lives. Just like we do.
So based on the evidence, this country is not on edge. You are, but so what?
I am a realist. The left is relentless. They have the media on their side to tell a slanted story and those that try to change things are hounded in multiple ways to the point of exhaustion.

How do you know that Corsi isn’t making up crap against Stone right now? Do you think that Stone got info on Hitlery illegally? Are you working for Mueller or FBI? If there is some of of process crime against Stone it’s probably a trumped up perjury trap or maybe Mueller looked into Stone’s tax records and then anything could be a crime with this Mueller police state.
Instead of seizing the carp, you’ve seized the crap and gone over to the Deep State. No one that Mueller has investigated is guilty of any crime related to Russian collusion or conspiracy and these other “crimes” are bogus crap.
The Meuller probe IS part of the crime. It’s a Deep State operation designed to cover up the spying and attempted coup against Trump.

Not trying to split hairs, but Manafort's tax and wire fraud "crimes" were pre-Mueller. He's an American and he's been charged. On the other hand, I'm not sure if Mueller brought those charges or the SDNY ...
No Mueller investigation, no charges against Manafort. And a number of charges against Manafort were lying to the Special Counsel, witness tampering, and violating his agreement with the SC.
