:: the NFL is still a dominant player, far outdrawing regular scripted TV shows. ::

Really? Scripted shows?

Maybe Roger “Beclowned” Goodell could explain Super Bowl XLIX?

I don’t know how much longer football has a viable sport in America. My old high school in Pennsylvania is going to 8-man football because they cannot get enough participation. And the numbers of schools doing this have increased since 2015.

I deliberately “watched” (on in the background) the first four Lions games this year. After that, I knew they were out of contention for the playoffs so I found something else to do.

Likely to do the same next season.

It would take about 100 people per game to script the outcome. This is silly.

NFL games are incredibly annoying and irritating - 4 hours of the pompous commentators, loud commercials, sideline SJW reports, replaying the same plays over and over.

I never realized how bad the whole experience really is until I quit watching regularly.

That’s the great thing about being a Lions fan, we don’t have to waste much time.

"...people get tired of celebrities being treated as the wisest of statesmen..."

We also get tired of "celebrities" shouting crude, vulgar, language at our president, and the media acting like it's worth hearing.

More like 10...in Vegas.

But, that’s silly. Entire banks of lights go out all the time during the Super Bowl.

Nope. Fake news. Until the NFL takes a real stand (and fires Baddell) I’m done with them.

I don’t know who they won back over, but what I do know is the fact it wasn’t ME!

Ditto. I'll be watching the Kitten and Puppy Bowls again this year.

Yeah that is why most NFL stadiums were only a 1/3 full this pass year. Too late NFL. You gave America the middle finger, and you commissionaire has no respect for the flag that we drape over those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.

For the record, I have not watched one NFL game this year. This is after I grew up watching the NFL in our family. Watched it for about 40 years. Anyhow, it’s done and I do not miss it at all.

Could careless about the Super Bowl.

Many fans of the KC Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes were hoping they could beat the Patriots. We won’t watch the Brady Bunch win another Super Bowl against the LA Rams, who should not even be there.

I DID watch this game because of those two. I caught the tail end of the Saints-Rams game and saw the missed call. It would have made the difference in the scoring......damn shame as the Saints are so much more respectable than the Rams. But I’m glad Brady and Owner Kraft are going again. Tom Brady is the GOAT!

I never doubted this would be the case. It’s the whole “if you build it” mantra. Last year the games sucked and there was the kneeling.

This year, really competitive games in bigger markets, rather importantly - competitive Thursday night games, lots of great story lines from Maholmes to Brees to Barkley, etc...

If the product is good, no worries. The NFL’s biggest problem is that their PR sucks and they are constantly reactive as opposed to proactive. Witness the debacle with the Saints playoff game that will now be legistlated away after the fact.

I didn’t watch those games either. I heard reports of bad calls, but I didn’t even watch video of the plays in question to see what that was about. The NFL is dead to me. Something about insulting our Anthem, our flag, our military, our ancestors, and our country just rubs me the wrong way.
