3500 square miles is only a little under 60 miles by 60 miles.
Not that big an area, and the border is 87 miles long in this county, which means the county is even narrower (~40 miles) than above.
This new bunch especially is off and running to completely trash our state in every way as soon as possible. People who have been up there say it is absolute chaos for those not in the loop and the new crazies especially came prepared to introduce bills with support already lined up. Those opposing had a hard time even figuring out what was going on. A real set up, didn’t want input for sure.
problem is, more and more states are becoming leftist hell holes.....
all you can do is work to have more control in the state legislature....I wish you luck....love New Mexico the one time I vacationed there...
For a little perspective the County seat, Sheriff’s office, main medical clinic, ETC is all in Lordsburg. It is 90 miles from Lordsburg to Antelope Wells, both in Hidalgo County. If I knew how to post photographs I would post one of the counties to show that Grant County actually comes down into Hidalgo County, so law enforcement has to drive through part of another county between Lordsburg and Antelope Wells. If someone could post a picture of counties to show that and a map of Hidalgo County to show perspective of Law Enforcement here. There are few paved highways down here so LEOs are often going out of their way to get to places.
Western states are so huge compared to eastern states. Connecticut and Colorado have nearly the same population. Colorado is twenty-four times the size and has four counties bigger than Connecticut. The rest of the four corner states are all similar in size.
I remember when Dear Leader’s answer to the problems south of I-8 was to stay out of the area.
