The Democratic Virginia delegate who has recently come under fire for sponsoring a bill in the Virginia House of Delegates that would allow the termination of a pregnancy up to 40 weeks old, is also the chief patron of a bill that would protect the lives of “fall cankerworms” during certain months.
Democratic Virginia Del. Kathy Tran introduced “House Bill No. 2495 – Fall cankerworm; spraying prohibited during certain months” on Jan. 9, the same day as “House Bill No. 2491 — Abortion; eliminate certain requirements.”

Typical. Nothing new. When I lived in Austin, every time a road or new construction was proposed, the hippies would emerge with a “save the salamander” or “save the yellow breasted spider” BS to block construction. This must be something similar.

Yes, proposing this on the exact same day by the exact same woman actually does surprise me a little.
What is her point?
But caterpillars turn into such beautiful butterflies.
It’s a major pest - defoliating millions of trees. Trying to protect them is utterly stupid, like trying to protect poison ivy or black widow spiders.
But they want to kill any baby they can get their forceps on.
