Mueller's team seized 'voluminous and complex' evidence from Roger Stone

Federal investigators probing Roger Stone, the former Trump campaign official indicted last week in the Russia probe, have seized multiple hard drives containing years of communication records from cellphones and email accounts, the special counsel's office said Thursday.

Robert Mueller's prosecutors, in a new court filing, described the evidence as "voluminous and complex" in asking a judge to delay his trial to give them more time to sift through the seized devices.

The court papers said investigators grabbed hard drives containing several terabytes of information, including "FBI case reports, search warrant applications and results (e.g., Apple iCloud accounts and email accounts), bank and financial records, and the contents of numerous physical devices (e.g., cellular phones, computers, and hard drives)."

The FBI is doing what it calls a "filter review" of the devices, setting aside any evidence that cannot be admissible in court because it is considered privileged.

During a press conference Thursday, Stone agreed that evidence is voluminous and complex, and said both parties had agreed to the language in the government's filing.

It is quite possible that they only found at his house what he wanted them to find. With the rules for keeping copies of certain communications, there might be something unwanted there. But, Hilliary...

That is how these witch hunts work - you dig into the deepest recesses of anyone at all associated with the one you are targeting. You dig up all the garbage you can on that associate and then press a truckload of charges (even if you have to invent crimes) - then pressure them to tattle on the real target in exchange for a reduction of the pile of charges you are pressing on them.

Then move on to the next associate - and repeat.

Doesn’t matter if the associate being raked over the coals has any pertinent information or evidence - because if you squeeze them hard enough - SOMETHING will come out - even if they make it up or lie to save their own skin.

Michael Cohen is an example - Mueller dug up some tax stuff and some other trash - then arranged for a massive set of charges that could equal a lifetime in prison - then “made a bargain” - plead to some tax evasion charges (probably legit) - and plead guilty to campaign finance violations (for what was not in any way an actual violation - ) so it could be “attached” to Trump.

The poster case of corrupt witch hunt.

This is for the corrupt FBI to send a message. And the message is, work for Republican interests and we’ll destroy you and your family.

So he’s already been arrested for “crimes”....and they’re going after additional stuff?? Who is serving these “everything but the kitchen sink” warrants?

Utter BS.

Sure his phone records and data files are huge.

That has nothing to do with the Russia Russia Russia nonsense.

And NBC is acting like this is going to be a long time. They are trying to spike what is coming from the crimes of the leadership of the FBI, DOJ and various other collectives.

Mueller had to launch a new investigation. The Trump/Russia thing is going nowhere.

Also, he needs to keep the appearance of going after Trump while systematically destroying any evidence against Obama and Hillary.

Plus he gets paid of LOT of our taxdollars.

LOL. Stone knows he has been under surveillance for at least the past year. I seriously doubt there is anything incriminating still left on his hard drives, or any records of him caught in any incriminating communications. And while I don’t buy that he was operating under the direction of DJT, I do suspect he was foolishly trying to cover his tracks in regards to his charges. If he left those hard drives in for 2 years after knowing, or at least suspecting, he would be a target...he is beyond stupid.

Guess that’s why they needed the 27 SWATsters and the two amphibious teams in the pond behind his house. It will take much more than this pitiful excuse to get sensible people to change their minds about this over-the-top farce.

“What in God’s name was Stone doing with all this data at his house if he knew the freaking FBI was coming”

I think it may be a crime to tamper with evidence. Unless your initials are HRC.

The government should have evidence of crimes BEFORE a raid. They can’t just raid someone they don’t like then go through the ‘voluminous and complex evidence’ in hopes of finding a crime. Even if they find evidence of a new crime, they should be able to quickly incorporate new evidence, even if voluminous, into a case against the crime the raid was based on.

At least that’s how it was supposed to work when we had rights related to searches, seizures, and a speedy trial. Since Mueller is above the Constitution, his targets don’t enjoy those rights.

all this data at his house

All what data?

You have no idea what was at his house.

Don't just swallow what NBC and Mueller are dishing.

The FBI is...setting aside any evidence that cannot be admissible in court because it is considered privileged.

FBI is not setting aside anything, at this point it is in essence merely claiming it will act ethically and will not present the court with evidence that is obviously inadmissible in this action.

It has tons of private communications which it otherwise would not have access to and could transmit portions of it for use by others, or just leak it to embarrass Stone.
