Pope Francis has for the first time publicly acknowledged the scandal of priests and bishops sexually abusing nuns and says he is committed to doing more to fight the problem. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Francis noted that Pope Benedict XVI had taken action against a France-based order after some of its religious sisters had been reduced to "sexual slavery" at the hands of the priest who founded the order and other priests. "Should we do something more? Yes. Is there the will? Yes. But it's a path that we have already begun," Francis said while returning home from the United Arab Emirates.

I thought about posting this article, then chickened out.
A path that has begun. In other words, the cya and whitewashing has been implemented.
Something should be done?
Yes - defrock those found guilty; and then turn them over to civil authorities for prosecution.
If it were up to me, those found guilty would all be swinging from a rope on the gallows. The way you end this crap is to hand out the most extreme of Earthly penalties - you execute the rotten bastards - and then let God deal with them.
"Now stop it or you'll get double secret probation".
Priests and nuns fooling around is not so bad if they don’t get in the habit.
But someone whose spouse packs-up and divorces them who chooses to move on with life and a new spouse has committed incredibly grave sexual sin.
And we won’t excommunicate a Governor who legalizes infanticide.
You can see why I’m increasingly having difficulty with my Church.
My gosh, the One Church is the most totally corrupt religious institution around. It’s corrupt from top to bottom and side to side. I feel for the average parishioners.

Trying to distract from the scandal of same sex attracted clergy?
This is what happens with a man made hierarchy system. It is inevitable. I have relatives/friends who are Catholic. As you say, it is sad for them.
I hear you it is quite a scandal (I assume you were talking about Cuomo there in your post).
Personally I was surprised to learn Northam was a member of a Baptist church speaking of baby killing governors.
I guess there are enough winks and nods in every denomination to give scandal to just about anyone.
Our Chaplain at our elite Private all girls school...took off with a nun. He was a real winner. Father Finks....really whacked out socialist....just like Hillary.
