Federal authorities conducted a raid on that office on Wednesday, taking away numerous documents and several computers. John La Fave, a Democrat, has headed that office since 2003.
"The FBI can confirm that agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and investigators from the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office executed a federal search warrant at the offices of the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds on (Wednesday)," said Milwaukee FBI spokesman Leonard Peace.
"Pursuant to the longstanding policy of the United States Department of Justice," Peace continued, "there will be no further comment on the matter at this time."
Peace confirmed that the search warrant is sealed.

Probably embezzlement. Lot of that going on in local government, at least in Wisconsin anyway.

Most likely housing and mortgage fraud.
Feds didn’t get their protection money this month.
They raided a Dem, so it must be extra bad.

Must be a case of mistaken identity. Wray will discipline them and Barr will quash the investigation.
FBI will burn the evidence to protect the guilty... from the right party. Meaning the Left party.
An interesting scam that was going on in Milwaukee several years ago was to purchase older houses in the north side ghetto (filled with ornate built-ins, woodwork, and tin ceilings), strip them out for “rehabs”...then take the salvaged interiors to sell and abandon the now-destroyed house. Much of this involved Federal funds targeted at improving such “distressed” neighborhoods.
