The top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee joined Democrats Saturday in criticizing President Trumps failure to send a report to Congress on the murder of Saudi Arabian dissident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas said he is deeply troubled by the administrations failure to meet the deadline on Friday for submitting a report on the slaying that is linked to the Saudi royal family.
The White House said in a statement that Congress cant force the president to act.
Consistent with the previous administrations position and the constitutional separation of powers, the president maintains his discretion to decline to act on congressional committee requests when appropriate, the administration said, adding that the U.S. already has taken action against the killers.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sent a letter to Congress outlining actions taken by the U.S. against individuals believed to be involved in the killing, but stopped short of describing who was ultimately responsible.

Obama had Khadaffi killed....and no one said boo.
Why cares about a terrorist-loving journalist that wrote for a liberal newspaper?
These jerks are worried to death about Khashoggi but turn a blind eye to states that are legalizing infanticide.
Wouldn’t it be far more appropriate for congress to be concerned about the murder of Seth Rich? And 50 or 60 other Americans somehow connected to the Clintons?
“and no one said boo”
Sure they did. I remember Hillary saying: We came, we saw, he died.
America had nothing to do with it, that is an Saudi issue.
KcuF that two faced Moslem Brotherhood sympathizer....
America had nothing to do with it, that is an Saudi issue.
Exactly! He needs to find something else to be “deeply troubled” about instead.
Right on, but the uniparty has put that issue to bed.
It’s just Muslim on Muslim business
Text has had way too many of the camel jockeys flood in. I bet if you look at this congressman’s donor list, you’d find some Moslim Brotherhood connections.
The bush wing of the Republican party again. Which appears to be most of it
I assume McCaul represents the Austin area?
Well I’m “deeply troubled” you didn’t fund the wall when we had the House you worthless rino.
When McCaul first ran for Congress from a new and strongly conservative district, all of the Republican candidates ran a “I’m far more conservative than all of the other conservative candidates” campaign.
Khashoggi was a Muslim brotherhood mouthpiece and a tool for the Qatari government. This shitbag was not a journalist by any definition that doesnt include the word whore.
Oh No! A “top Republican” is DEEBLY TROUBLED!!! They are either “off” or “deeply troubled/concerned.” Those are the only two settings they come with.
Well now a RinoRat raises it’s head...
By Your words shall You be known
Sounds like he is looking to get snake bit
