I LOVE Dan Greenfield!
They find coal dust on faces offensive, but ignore the line by the crazy neighbor We are being attacked by hottentots!
All this outrage makes me want to see the movie again. It also brings back sweet memories of my preschool boys dancing to Step in Time around the living room. One is a muscle bound college wrestler and the other is in a rock band ( with paid gigs ;-) ). Hard to believe they were ever so innocent and carefree that they got their knees up to the Mary Poppins soundtrack!
Exactly. By discussing it, people are giving credence to the points. Better to dismiss the argument entirely.
It's a negotiation/PR technique, used by both sides of the aisle - and Donald Trump. Pointing that particular bit out might squelch the left! To Wit:
A ridiculous claim is made: "5 out of 4 people don't understand math."
Fools rush in..."5 out of 4 is impossible! Now, 4 out of 4 could happen, in an era of White Privilege and Global Warming. Why, when I was in High School, 10 long years ago...."
And in an instant, people are not only discussing the issue, but also rationalizing ways (4 out of 4 people...) in which it could be correct.
Phoenix restaurant says this is a photo of coal miners. But I see offensive blackface, Thomas complained. My concern that the photograph of men in blackface was a threat to me and my face and voice were ignored. A business photograph of men with blackened faces culturally says to me, Whites Only. It says people like me are not welcome.
Thomas is an idiot, yet he is presented as a thinker, an intellectual. This is the greatest problem we face: willful ignorance. Come on, people, your color just isnt that big of a deal. No one is oppressing you. Get over yourself and take part in the American dream. You think YOU arent welcome? Try being a white person in a black area as opposed to a black person in a white area. See who is more oppressed.
Nothing can intimidate me unless I let it. Ain’t a gonna happen!
Also try any of the earlier scenes in “The African Queen” where he’s firing the boiler of a recalcitrant steam boat and gets covered with black soot.
The only way the democrats can win is with a race war, a class war, class envy, and race hatred. They’ve got the sexual war “won”, now they’re working on the rest of of it through their ABCNNBCBS press corpse.
Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam.

Next up, screaming that a white guy splattered with sewage is an evil bigot trying to look like his moral superiors.
The root cause of all of this is liberal racism, hatred of whites and trying to push them to the bottom of the social hierarchy.
Don’t you dare imitate morally superior black and brown people. You can do the dirty jobs, those are the only ones you’re fit for, but don’t try to look respectable with a tan, dark makeup or clothing like the better cultures. Even a whiff that you’re trying to be better than you are, and we will beat you down for the safety of the community.
I recall another story about a picture of sooty miners being misintrrpreted with racial overtones:
A couple attending an art exhibition at the National Gallery was staring at a portrait that had them completely confused. The painting depicted three very black, totally naked men sitting on a bench. Two of the figures had black penises, but the one in the middle had a pink penis. The curator of the gallery realized that they were having trouble interpreting the painting and offered his assessment. He went on for nearly half an hour explaining how it depicted the sexual emasculation of African-Americans in a predominantly white, patriarchal society.”In fact,” he pointed out, “some serious art critics believe that the pink penis also reflects the cultural and sociological oppression experienced by gay men in contemporary society.”
After the curator left, an Irishman approached the couple and said,”Would you like to know what the painting is really about?””Now why would you claim to be more of an expert than the curator of the gallery?” asked the couple. “Because I’m the guy who painted it,” he replied. “In fact, there are no African-Americans depicted at all. They’re just three Irish coal-miners.
The guy in the middle went home for lunch.”
The guy who painted the piece had a
yellowish penis the color of Cheetos.
When I was a kid I enjoyed MP for the sheer magic. Great songs, visuals, cute kids. And of course, Julie Andrews.
Watching it again, but this time as an adult, I realized the film’s witty depiction of class differences (a very British thing). I loved how it ridiculed the stodgy bank board of directors. It made me enjoy the film even more. I did not see anything racist; I did not care.
A truly comedic film offers humor on all levels, all ages. A shame liberals don’t understand that.
I really doubt a guy name Daniel Pollack-Pelzner hates White people or is trying to to get a mob together to hate Whitey.
Nah, he's just another White academic trying to show off.
His argument is ridiculous, and it's certainly worth ridicule.
Even if he weren't a white professor, his idea is still stupid and should be ridiculed, but nobody's going to be attacked because of somebody's stupid idea about Mary Poppins, chimney sweeps and blackface.
Feel free to bury your head deeper.
