Today, Democrats introduced SB 770, which would eliminate private health insurance and create a state health care system for all. The goal is to have the system in place by 2023. The bill is nearly 90 pages.

Oregon has a super-majority of Democrats. Republicans can't stop anything.

A portion of the bill reads:

(2) The board shall administer the plan according to all of the following principles:
(a) Health care, as a human right, must be accessible to everyone without exception.
(b) Health care resources and services must be distributed and accessed according to people’s needs. Health, income, employment, age, race, gender, immigration status and other factors should not create any barriers to health care or disparities in health outcomes.

Come one, come all - it's FREEEEEEEEE

Health care resources and services must be distributed and accessed according to people’s needs.

From each according to his ability; to each according to his need.
Marxism always sounds so swell.

If you live in Oregon, it might be prudent to start looking for employment and housing in another state.

Unless you’re a confirmed Democrat, then I think it’s important you stay there and support your ideals.

Oh, that state hasn’t a clue as to what’s coming at them.

They’ll first target the pregnant women to terminate any child which tests even the slightest deformity; look for the abortion to go up through the day of delivery there. They won’t say you ‘have to terminate,’ just tell you the state will not cover any costs.

Second, will come those in Comas of any type. Tied to that, look for organ transplanting to be covered in there somewhere, giving the state the right to the body of the deceased.

Then, the elderly which are terminal. Death Panels will become big business.

Interesting, look for how they try to discontinue paying for Mental and Welfare Care Facilities.

So. Is it in the state law that Union granted Medical coverage is out the window, no longer in affect? It’ll be interesting. So many have lost so much because of it.

How will the state’s medical coverage go up against the Fed’s new coverage for those who want the Fed’s new coverage?

So many questions, such little time. So many, many selfish, stupid and ignorant voters and non-voters.

Sheesh.

Please, dear Lord in Heaven - Keep them in that state and out of my state of Texas.

Medical Unification Plan ping. (It wasn't in "Atlas Shrugged" because Rand wouldn't have thought of anything so bizarre. Steel, railroads, but not medical care.)

20th Century Motor Company ping.

Do it, Oregon! I’ll be driving over the Oregon/Cali border to get all kinds of free care if you do. And then I’ll go back home.

I would expect half of the population to move to states that have more freedom. The other half don’t pay enough in taxes to fund this.

My sixty-two-year-old sister-in-law who’s never worked and has burned through four useless husbands, as well as getting a fortune in free medical care over the decades, considers the medical establishment to be her personal no cost caregivers. Ditto for her 30 yo worthless daughter.

I couldn’t begin to guess how much I paid in medical insurance premiums and medical care over the years that she and her daughter collected free health care along with other government goodies. She has been caught three different times cheating on food stamps and has never been penalized. They haven’t even temporarily suspended her eligibility for food stamps.

Yup, United States Citizens in Oregon who have worked a lifetime building this great Country, and who have paid their taxes and even volunteered for a bunch of community service would now (if leg passes) wait months for an appointment to wait hours behind illegal alien ingrates to see a PA (in training) who will refer them to a death panel.

I wonder how many colons will rot from cancer and then have the cancer spread to other areas by the time a colonoscopy can be performed.

Same with breast cancer screenings.

Unless Oregon has a zillion dollars saved somewhere.

A friend of mine just returned from visiting his daughter in Oregon. He says everyone he met was surly and seemed depressed, and people at a party his daughter and son-in-law threw for him talked endlessly about how broke they were.

Great time for their “leaders” to come up with another government ponzi scheme.

Health care is whatever the government decides it is. So if all you get is a band-aid, a Tylenol or a cane, that’s health care.

“Health, income, employment, age, race, gender, immigration status and other factors should not create any barriers to health care or disparities in health outcomes.”

Right, those things won’t be barriers. But government policy boards and bureaucrats will be barriers.

This statement is ever more ridiculous and is yet another example that leftists have a mental disorder. A person’s health obviously influences their health outcome. A healthy person is more likely to survive an invasive procedure or injury than an unhealthy person. And believe it or not, age does influence outcomes as well for similar reasons.

They don’t even stop to think what they are putting down on paper. But that’s good. Again, the leftists have exposed themselves to ridicule. Leftists have lost critical thinking skills.

Thanks to Oregon's 1973 land use law, the prosperity of the 1980s, the tech boom of the 1990s and the ongoing current boom have all bypassed the state.

Will Oregon’s elected officials be exempt from this socialized medicine scheme? Will they be able to keep their own gold-plated health care plans? I bet they will.

Next is Cartelfonia. Mike McGuire is pro single payer and will not listen. It will sink the state and start killing people with negligence and apathy.
