What to believe?

A parsec is a distance!
That line never made sense to me. A parsec is a measure of distance. It's like me saying saying I ran the Boston Marathon is 16.2 miles.
No matter how many Star Wars fanboys try to justify the language as meaning something rational, Lucas screwed up and wrote it wrong. AND whoever wrote "Solo" doubled down on stupid when Han Solo bragged AGAIN about making the Kessel run is 12 parsecs.
