Memo to Republicans who oppose POTUS Trump’s emergency declaration: Shut up
The National Sentinel ^ | 2/16/19 | Jon Dougherty

In a lengthy tweet storm, Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) laid out his case as to why he believes that POTUS Donald Trump’s declaration of a national emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border was not just inappropriate but unconstitutional as well.

He begins:

“A thread on national emergencies and our Constitution:

Congress makes laws. The president executes laws. The Supreme Court decides cases.

This is our constitutional system.

Congress cannot delegate legislative powers to the president by statute.”

I for one would like to punch him.

That said, since I can’t, it would be nice for the MIA, Ted Cruz to reappear and verbally support PDJT in this.

Senator Cruz, where are you?

All these people are acting like this is the first time an emergency declaration has ever been made by any President.

Its these “Republicans” who cost us the wall to begin with. They could have funded the wall day 1 of Trump’s Presidency, instead they didnt want to..and NOT only that, these same Senate Republicans voted FOR this ridiculous “Border bill” they could have killed the bill and that would have been it but instead they voted for it..not hearing any outrage over these Republicans, I want names who voted YES and who voted NO

This would be a great time for Republicans to act like Democrats and stand together and speak with one voice.

“Congress cannot delegate legislative powers to the president by statute.”

Congress has delegated its legislative powers to anyone with a sufficiently large check in their hand. As an example, much of the Obamacare legislation was literally written by industry lobbyists and we were told we should pass it to find out what was in it.

It has delegated its monetary powers to a private corporation that operates in secrecy, the Federal Reserve. Can’t even get an audit out of it now.

It has delegated many legislative powers to agencies like the EPA, which routinely make bureaucratic decisions with legislative effect.

It delegated its legislative powers over immigration to Mexican cartels.

It has delegated a wide variety of its legislative power to courts. It is the courts, not Congress, who decide the most important issues of the day; the opposite of the intended paradigm.

It delegated its war powers, arguably the most important of them all, to every President by default and abdication of duty. Look at what they stood by and let happen, with no war declaration, in Libya. Look what they let continue in Syria.

And so on and so forth. In a sense, Congress has very little power at all now, with each member’s actions tied so strongly to vested interests and calcified political coalitions.

“Justin is a member of the Committee on Oversight and Reform (COR). He serves on the COR Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and the COR Subcommittee on National Security.”

There seems to me to be be a conflict of interest between serving on these three committees.

“Congress cannot delegate legislative powers to the president by statute.””

But they seem to be delegating executive powers to themselves.

Great question. Apparently, Mitch McConnell is only a “liar” when Ted Cruz runs for president. Note none of our brave “conservatives” in the Senate blew the whistle on the latest dark of night ambush McConnell set up for POTUS.

I can tell you that one of my senators voted “yes”, because he’s not up for re-election until 2022. He knew there was gonna be no blow-back for him.

My other senator, voted “no”. He couldn’t risk it because he’s up for re-election next year.

These snakes are all beholden to their big donors.

The president is over the Executive branch and is the Commander in Chief of the military.

When Congress allocates funds, it does not micromanage how these funds are spent because the implementation is part of execution rather than legislation. Legislation defines parameters, but ultimately those doing the job must do the job, and this includes spending the monies allocated.

The wall is legal. Laws already are on the books.

Using resources designated for drug enforcement and protecting the borders are specifically border security matters under the operational control of DEA and military which are part of the executive branch.

This specific matter is where the president has the GREATEST authority. It is his job to defend our nation from foreign and DOMESTIC enemies. This trumps (yes, intentional) EVERYTHING else. Without this executive power we cannot have a nation. If everything else in government fails, we MUST have an executive who can do whatever it takes to protect the nation.

This president has had to deal with a concerted effort by the Deep State and Uniparty to steal the executive office in a coup. He has had to deal with an abuse of the right to a free press which has been taken over by rich and powerful political interests to subvert our Republican form of government and freedom of religion. He has had to deal with the illegal and criminal efforts to import MILLIONS of illegal voters to steal this nation from its rightful owners.

If this president is unable to do the job the PEOPLE elected him for, the only option left is WAR.

If they didn’t want to because their constituents didn’t want them to, what’s wrong with with that?

What’s wrong is these useless politicans think there constitutions are on K-Street when they are on Main Street. Unfortunately, the beltway “Republicans” gorging on beltway payola don’t seem to get that.

We know where the “GOP” stands. Worthless traitors shoved the Rat open border bill in Trumps face and dared him to veto it.

I used to like Amash. Not anymore.

There are laws on the books making it illegal to enter our country illegally. Just because no other president has even tried to enforce the laws does not make enforcing them “legislative”. If our idiot congress has made it so that setting foot on U.S. soil entitles intruders or invaders entitled to taxpayer funded assistance, then it is the President’s job to make sure they do not set foot on our soil.
