If what he says is taken at face value, then there’s a HUGE PROBLEM with the FISA Court system, since it, I guess, allows any administration to spy on their political opponents by simply making up a story and going to the FISA judges with it.

Is that he’s really supporting - something that isn’t even tolerated in the Third World?

Bates said he supports greater transparency for the FISA process, including the release of FISC opinions and orders as long as proper considerations are made to protect such things as sources and methods, but warned against the release of application materials.

IOW, we are justified in framing, investigating, bankrupting, and incarcerating anyone and we don't have to disclose how we applied for the warrants, because muh national security.
