California Bill Would Force Pastors And Priests To Tell What They Heard In Confession
The Federalist ^ | February 26, 2019 | Holly Scheer

A new bill in California seeks to intrude on one of the most sacred relationships—that between clergy and penitent in formal confession. Currently, clergy members are already mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect, but sins confessed specifically in confession are exempt under current law from mandatory reporting.

Bill 360, introduced by Democrat state Sen. Jerry Hill, would “delete that exception for a penitential communication, thereby requiring clergy to make a mandated report even if they acquired the knowledge or reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect during a penitential communication.” This is an egregious overreach of secular authority, stepping into sacred religious rites, and will not protect children or stem the tide of child abuse.

“And when the priest says “if this person confessed to me, he confessed anonymously, so I had nothing to report,” then what?”

They then produce the hidden recording of the sting confession?

“...Greeks don’t understand it that way. Do they not understand Greek?

I can’t speak for this error, but the make a great many in addition to this.

The problem with these false traditions is that they gain a life of their own. From then on, it’s not about what Scripture says.

First, I was baptized Catholic.

Second, anyone who thinks the policies of the church are not anti-American is delusional.

Open borders. Redistribution of wealth and land. Opposition to American immigration laws.

I could go on. But I’m sure you get it.

If California passes this bill, the rest of the country should go against California in every way, financially, legally, civilly, and in every other way. California should start to pay for their liberal, goofball ways.

Any Christian can forgive sins. Jesus was not speaking to just the Apostles.

John 3:16 is the pathway to Heaven. It is exclusive of all other "methods".
