All true, but they will lose the moral ground and the right to control the future. Their actions were so awful that they increased the rate of descent into the cold. And the fact that they have prepared their people for the exact opposite situation, means they will lose future support.

Erik, you just don't follow. Liberals would never allow us to go off on our own.

If you don't understand that, you don't understand liberals.

Whenever I hear the nonsense about ‘popular vote’ I point our that Trump won the most counties.

Another fascinating popular vote factoid...

Hillary got 48.1% of the vote nationwide, and more votes overall than her opponent, but the oddities of that election system caused her to lose anyway.

2016? No, silly. That was the 2008 Democrat Primary against Barack Obama, who got 47.2% of the vote, but still won the nomination thanks to the Delegate system the Dems use.

Hillary then abused the Delegate system to help defraud Bernie in a rigged Primary election in 2016... but then she lost anyway, getting exactly 48.1% of the national vote again, this time against Donald Trump's 46.1%.

Strange how Democrats didn't scream about tearing down the antiquated voting system in 2008. Hmmmmm.

The best thing that could happen to this world would be the demise of the Internet.

No Internet, no FreeRepublic.

Along what boundaries? Who gets to decide? What if the libs in our zone refuse to leave?

I don't think it'll happen peacefully.

After you. Suicide missions did nothing for the confederacy and they thought they could win.

If you look at a map of this country county by county colored red or blue according to the vote, you would see some clearly defined boundaries. Would some have to be evicted forcefully? Of course. Would there be some violence? Yes. But that is better than an all-out civil war IMHO.

We're more interwoven than that, even.

Pick almost any red county on the national vote map and expand it so that precincts are visible. You'll begin to see blue zones peeking through. Now expand it so that individual streets are visible and it'll look like a red pastry covered with blue sprinkles. Same thing for blue counties.

Left and right live cheek by jowl today. Disentangling us will be next to impossible if things go fully south in this country.

This isn't just an intellectual exercise. It's a real problem, considering the deteriorating relations between the two sides. It may be irritating to have Democrat voters in your neighborhood now, but it could well become deadly if things get worse. Sadly, things are getting worse.

I've often pondered how things will shake out in my own neighborhood, should the SHTF. What are we going to do with the Beto voters when it comes time to militia up and assign armed patrol duties? They'll certainly be confronted with some stark choices. So will we.

My county (Dallas, TX) has been majority Dem for some time now, but there are still so many Republicans here, that it would easily revert to red in an all-out fight.

I think that fact somewhat keeps the several city councils in line. They dare not attempt to impose any kind of unconstitutional gun bans or restrictions on us. They would be starting a fight they cannot win, if they did.
