A drug-smuggling cop who helped run a heroin-trafficking ring and tried to squirm her way out of an arrest by claiming she was on the job was found guilty by a federal jury Thursday.
Yessenia Jimenez, 32, and her boyfriend, Luis Soto, used her Bronx apartment as a stash house, where they kept kilos of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine they brought into the U.S. from Mexico, along with hundreds of thousands of dollars in drug money, prosecutors said.

Countries are NOT magic dirt. Countries are PEOPLE.
When you import the Third World into Law Enforcement, you do not magically tranform those people:
You drearily transform US law enforcement.

That reminds an earlier 1990s Russia. As government wages became dismal all the old force went away but a lot of ethnic types came in. In major cities they had precincts with morning briefing in Turkish. In a few years police became a sort of organized crime in itself.

DEATH penalty should be applied here. We need to adopt that penalty a la Singapore, for massive quantities of deadly drugs like fentanyl.
