I've heard that Austin is a strange place and not representative of Texas nor Texans at all.

Is that where all of the lefties from other states move to?

Austin was in the past weird but in a quirky way. Think of a mix of hippies and cowboys. It’s city officials were liberal, but Texas liberal which is conservative in most other states. Then things started going down hill when a good number of people migrated there from Silicon valley.

Austin used to be a large small town in Texas. Now it is just as liberal as Los Angeles. Also a sanctuary city.
