I propose that only Americans that contribute to society by paying more in taxes then they receive in benefits be allowed to vote. Then I don’t care what age they are. However Social Security retirement benefits should be counted as income for the purposes of this calculation because it was earned in advance.
You could require completion of military or national service as a prerequisite, like in Heinlein’s Starship Trooper.
And war veterans should receive a lifetime qualification to vote.
