And just like the split up California movement, it will just wither in the vine.

And how could it succeed?
The dems have power and everything comes down to a vote.
Doesn’t wither.
It never gets to grow at all to begin with.

Too bad they could split NY up and California and let the liberal portions become satellite countries of Venezuela.

Where does the NYS Republican Party stand on this? Oh that’s right, NY doesn’t have an organized GOP state party.

Just take it back. You all were part of the Original 13 colonies...you don’t know how to do it??

Downstate IL and interior CA are heavily GOP.
Democrats arent going to agree to that and an upstate NY proposal for one reason.
It would dilute their power. Such splits will happen when pigs can fly.

If the RINOs were serious they’d be proposing Upstatehood.
But if they did that, they wouldn’t be RINOs.

You pull on the rubber band long enough and it breaks!
The Liberals of N.Y. have that rubber band pulled super tight. Something has to give in the not too distant future.

While a good idea in principle, it will not work because it retains the supremacy of the central state government. It will be like what happened to the country beginning with the passage of the 14th Amendment that opened the door for incorporation of the Bill of Rights and then picked up warp speed when the 17th Amendment removed the states from pursuing their interests. Only unlike the federal government, the central state government will from the start impose the same crap on the three autonomous regions as we have now making them anything but autonomous. There is no way the powers that be would take any chances in allowing the magnitude of freedom as envisioned by this proposal.
The only thing that makes any sense is a complete split of the state into two separate states so those of us upstate can govern ourselves.
