Anyone with large financial empire and complex business and financial transactions around the globe can be indicted for financial crimes. The Trump Foundation in NY was already shut down over financial improprieties that could be used against the family. I'm sure there are plenty more. It is a highly political move specifically intended to bring down Trump, while not attacking him directly. Will people really riot over over a President't rich, spoiled children being tried for being rich?
Obviously, I'm taking this report with a huge pile of salt, but indicting Trump's children is easy. And it crosses a line that may force Trump to act in ways that could bring him down.
