Last Friday, former Penn mens basketball star and coach Jerome Allen testified in Miami federal court that he received hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from Philip Esformes, a Miami Beach executive and father of current a Wharton senior.
Between 2013 and 2015, Esformes bribed Allen to recruit his son, Morris Esformes, as a basketball player in order to facilitate his acceptance into Wharton. In October 2018, Allen pleaded guilty to bribery charges in a federal district court, admitting that he had accepted money from Esformes to advocate for his son. Esformes is facing charges of fraud after obtaining $1 billion in a Medicare-related scheme. A portion of this money was used to bribe Allen, who is serving as a government witness in Esformes trial.
I accepted the money to help Morris Esformes get into the school, Allen testified in Miami federal court. I got his son into Penn; I got his son into Wharton. None of that would have happened without me.

I didn’t know Wharton had a basketball team? What’s their nickname...the Bucks? or maybe the Wolves?
Progressives: there is no depth limit to their depravity.
Universities (which are almost completely progressive): Double that first estimate.
UPenn Quakers first basketball game 1897. 2 national championships, 26 Ivy League championships. 24 NCAA appearances.
Wharton is the business school in UPenn.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Wharton is a graduate school. Univ of Penn is the Ivy League undergrad. And Ivy League doesn’t give sports scholarships though I am sure they lower the standards for player-students. Still, not sure how he got into Wharton Graduate School as a player...?
The Wharton Whales?
Tip the scales for the Wharton Whales.
Cash in a briefcase for a cross-court fast break.
How much does it take for your kid to graduate?
It all depends on how much your mommy makes!
Wharton has undergrad programs too. Wharton athletes are part of the overall university athletics program so hed be on the Penn team. There are no athletic scholarships but if you bribe a guy hundreds of thousands, scholarships arent a real concern Im guessing.
I remember Jerome Allen. He and Matt Maloney formed one the best back courts in college hoops.
