Why Joe May Be Courting Stacey

Of 895 slots in the freshman class of Stuyvesant High in New York City, seven were offered this year to black students, down from 10 last year and 13 the year before.

In the freshman class of 803 at The Bronx High School of Science, 12 students are black, down from last year's 25.

Of 303 students admitted to Staten Island Technical High School, one is African-American.

According to The New York Times, similar patterns of admission apply at the other five most elite high schools in the city.

Whites and Asians are 30 percent of middle school students, but 83 percent of the freshman at Bronx High School of Science, 88 percent at Staten Island Technical and 90 percent at Stuyvesant.

What do these numbers tell us?

They reveal the racial composition of the cohort of scientists and technicians who will lead America in the 21st century. And they tell us which races will not be well represented in that vanguard.

They identify a fault line that runs through the Democratic Party, separating leftists who believe in equality of results for all races and ethnic groups, and those who believe in a meritocracy.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has expressed anger and frustration at the under-representation of blacks and Hispanics in the elite schools. But Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature have ignored his pleas to change the way students are admitted.

Currently, the same test, of English and math, is given to middle school applicants. And admission to the elite eight is offered to those who get the highest scores.

Moreover, Asians, not whites, are predominant.

Though 15 percent of all middle school students, Asians make up two-thirds of the student body at Stuyvesant, with 80 times as many slots as their African-American classmates.

The egalitarian wing of the Democratic Party sees this as inherently unjust. And what gives this issue national import are these factors:

First, the recent scandal where rich parents paid huge bribes to criminal consultants to get their kids into elite colleges, by falsifying records of athletic achievement and cheating on Scholastic Aptitude Tests, has caused a wave of populist resentment.

Second, Harvard is being sued for systemic reverse racism, as black and Hispanic students are admitted with test scores hundreds of points below those that would disqualify Asians and whites.

Third, Joe Biden has a history on compulsory integration dating back to the 1970s that Sen. Jesse Helms called "enlightened."

Here are Biden's quotes, unearthed by The Washington Post, that reflect his beliefs about forced busing for racial balance in public schools:

"The new integration plans being offered are really just quota systems to assure a certain number of blacks, Chicanos, or whatever in each school. That, to me, is the most racist concept you can come up with.

"What it says is, 'In order for your child with curly black hair, brown eyes, and dark skin to be able to learn anything, he needs to sit next to my blond-haired, blue-eyed son.' That's racist!

"Who the hell do we think we are, that the only way a black man or woman can learn is if they rub shoulders with my white child?

"I am philosophically opposed to quota systems. They insure mediocrity."

That was 44 years ago. While those views were the thinking of many Democrats, and perhaps of most Americans, in the mid-'70s, they will be problematic in the 2020 primaries, where African-Americans could be decisive in the contests that follow Iowa and New Hampshire.

Biden knows that just as Bernie Sanders, another white male, fell short in crucial South Carolina because of a lack of support among black voters, he, too, has a problem with that most loyal element in the Democratic coalition.

In 1991, Biden failed to rise to the defense of Anita Hill when she charged future Justice Clarence Thomas with sexual harassment. In the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was a law-and-order champion responsible for tough anti-crime legislation that is now regarded as discriminatory.

And he has a record on busing for racial balance that made him a de facto ally of Louise Day Hicks of the Boston busing case fame.

How, with a record like this, does Biden inoculate himself against attacks by rival candidates, especially candidates of color, in his run for the nomination?

One way would be to signal to his party that he has grown, he has changed, and his 2020 running mate will be a person of color. Perhaps he'll run with a woman of color such as Stacey Abrams, who narrowly lost the 2018 governor's race in Georgia.

An ancillary benefit would be that Abrams on the ticket would help him carry Georgia, a state Donald Trump probably cannot lose and win re-election.

Wrote Axios this morning:

"Close advisers to former Vice President Joe Biden are debating the idea of packaging his presidential campaign announcement with a pledge to choose Stacey Abrams as his vice president."

Joe needs someone on the ticket who is dumber than he is (not an easy task).

And yet the whole reason Joe seems like their most viable candidate is the fact that he’s the least threatening to whites.

What's particularly interesting about these quotes is that they reflect the exact same sentiments that Clarence Thomas has enunciated over the years.

If we want our country to continue to lead the World, we need Meritocracy to be the most important building block in our quiver. The Diversity Crowd are ‘virtue signalling’ when they demand the lowering of standards in admission to schools. But then again, perhaps the Left/Diversity Crowd want our country to fail. I absolutely believe that Obama wanted our country to fall. Perhaps the whole of the Left wants the same thing. Take us down a peg or two. We are the reason for all the evil in the World, aren’t we? /s

did I miss something?

Did Stacy Abrams suddenly get a huge positive national profile, from her rebuttal speech to Trump’s State of the Union speech?

I know she is huge to political junkie types, but I bet most of the country has no idea who she is.

And since the liberals talk of “experience” a lot, what of her experience? I think she was in the Georgia Legislature, and ran for governor. Similar to Obama, she has no management or executive experience of any kind in her life. This sort of person could be a heartbeat from the presidency? Really???

Out of curiosity I wonder what races will be represented in the "vanguard" of the NBA, NFL, and rap videos?

He needs this move to have a short at the nomination and he is the only one that can possibly beat Trump by courting back the blue collar Reagan Democrat of the midwest.

So has has to get some early traction. If you win a primary of 10 candidates w/ 25% of the vote, that means 75% chose someone else.

This Dem field of 15+ candidates will be a circular firing squad where whoever wins walks away damaged.

Some have said the circular firing squad, could mean that nobody will get a 1st ballot nomination at the convention.

And if that happens, a deadlocked convention could turn to Hillary.

They say only 7 "African-American" students were offered admission to Stuyvesant High School, but they don't say if any immigrant blacks from Africa or the Caribbean were offered slots.

Some years ago The Wall Street Journal had a story about a black high school student in Berkeley, California, who really, really, wanted to attend UC Berkeley. She was a B student and it didn't look like she would get in.

Meanwhile Reed College was very eager to have her enroll and had even flow her up to visit the campus--but she was not inclined to go there (too few black students). A very prestigious Eastern college (Smith, I think) was also interested in her--but she had never heard of the place and wasn't interested. Of course private colleges are free to admit anyone they wish, but probably the average SAT scores of incoming freshmen at Reed and Smith are even higher than those of incoming freshmen at UC Berkeley.

Yeah, so they can copy off their tests. They didn't study, they were too busy partying and getting high. So they will sit next to your blond kid to copy the answers. How many times did I incredulously ask black students who flunked big time why they didn't study for the test, a test that was announced, a test for which they received study sheets which we all went over together in class, only to hear that the student did not study, was partying with their friends? It's like they have a self-destruction engine installed. But then, when grades came out, they'd say they failed because "I was racis'". Sure, I would reply, a biology test on the circulatory system is racist, and you failed the test because I marked all your wrong answers as wrong. That's very racist. With an attitude like that, thinking all your shortcomings will be covered by the word "racist", how can you possibly hope to succeed?

These are two of the most loathsome creatures in the Democrat party and that is a really low bar that they have to slither under. The ghettopotamus from GA and Xao Bi Den They want to rule with an iron fist. The ghettopotamus introduce gun confiscation legislation in the Ga general assembly and Xao has wanted to ban semi-autos for at least 30 years.

TAKE A HIKE, JOE----(smirk) Biden was consulting with his "family" whether to run, this is who he meant:

During the Obama Admin, then-VP Joe Biden took his son Hunter on an official trip to China.
China then gave Hunter a billion dollar check....making it likely that Biden sold out the United States to China.

And what was Obama's cut of the deal?

========================================

INSIDE THE SHADY PRIVATE EQUITY FUND OF BIDEN AND KERRY'S KIDS

EXCERPT--Peter Schweizer in his new book, “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends,” details a number of ethical violations on both sides of the political aisle. One example: the little-noticed private equity firm run by the sons of Democrats Joe Biden and John Kerry, as detailed in this exclusive first excerpt.

The two men became close while serving for several decades together in the US Senate. The two “often talked on matters of foreign policy,” says Jules Witcover in his Biden biography. So their sons going into business together in June 2009 was not exactly a bolt out of the blue. But with whom their sons cut lucrative deals while the elder two were steering the ship of state is more of a surprise.

What Hunter Biden, the son of America’s vice president, and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of the chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations (later to be secretary of state), were creating was an international private equity firm. It was anchored by the multi-million Heinz family alternative investment fund, Rosemont Capital. The new firm would be populated by political loyalists and positioned to strike profitable deals overseas with foreign governments and officials with whom the US government was negotiating.

Hunter Biden, Vice President Joe Biden’s youngest son, had gone through a series of jobs since graduating from Yale Law School in 1996, including the hedge-fund business. By the summer of 2009, the 39-year-old Hunter joined forces with the son of another powerful figure in American politics, Chris Heinz. Senator John Heinz of Pennsylvania had tragically died in a 1991 airplane crash when Chris was 18. Chris, his brothers, and his mother inherited a large chunk of the family’s vast ketchup fortune, including a network of investment funds and a Pennsylvania estate, among other properties. In May 1995, his mother, Teresa, married Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts. That same year, Chris graduated from Yale, and then went on to get his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Joining them in the Rosemont venture was Devon Archer, a longtime Heinz and Kerry friend. The three friends established a series of related LLCs. The trunk of the tree was Rosemont Capital, the alternative investment fund of the Heinz Family Office. Rosemont Farm is the name of the Heinz family’s 90-acre estate outside Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania. The small fund grew quickly. According to an email revealed as part of a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation, Rosemont described themselves as “a $2.4 billion private equity firm co-owned by Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz,” with Devon Archer as “Managing Partner.”The partners attached several branches to the Rosemont Capital trunk, including Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC, Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners, and Rosemont Realty. Of the various deals in which these Rosemont entities were involved, one of the largest and most troubling concerns was Rosemont Seneca Partners.

Rather than set up shop in New York City, the financial capital of the world, Rosemont Seneca leased space in Washington, DC. They occupied an all-brick building on Wisconsin Avenue, the main thoroughfare of exclusive Georgetown. Their offices would be less than a mile from John and Teresa Kerry’s 23-room Georgetown mansion, and just two miles from both Joe Biden’s office in the White House and his residence at the Naval Observatory. In short, the Chinese government was literally funding a business that it co-owned along with the sons of two of America’s most powerful decision makers.

Hunter Biden also had connections to jailed hedge fund crook Allen Stanford
WSJ, By Susan Schmidt, Steve Stecklow and John R. Emshwiller, Feb. 24, 2009 12:01 a.m. ET

A fund of hedge funds run by two members of Vice President Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by companies controlled by Texas financier R. Allen Stanford, who is facing Securities and Exchange Commission accusations of engaging in an $8 billion fraud.

The $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens' Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and a Stanford Financial Group entity and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund. Stanford-related companies marketed the fund to investors......--snip--rest at WSJ paywall.

In a 1993 speech, Biden used racist-type language that is coming back to haunt the 2020 wannabe:
Biden described a "cadre of young people (he means Black people), tens of thousands of them, born out of wedlock,
without parents, without supervision, without any structure, without any conscience ... because they literally have not been socialized....
Biden said if we dont focus on them now a portion of them, will become the predators 15 years from now."

Biden was echoing the Clintons-----then-Pres Bill signed into law stiffer penalties for inner city criminals.......
Hillary took to the mic to burnish her ambitions, and stupidly called the black criminals "super-predators."
"We have to bring them to heel," Hillary insisted.

Black protesters showed up at her 2016 campaign events, reminding her of her choice of words to describe them.
