The problem with looking at the county maps is that they aren't population weighted. If you look at the area around Watertown and the tug hill plateau on a two D standard map it looks like a large area of conservative support - but not all that many people live there, and black flies don't vote. If you add a third dimension of population density it shows a different story.

Stay away from Michigan. Everything is just 'harrible' here. Everyone has guns. The lakes are all polluted. It's winter 10 months a year and the other 2 months it rains... constantly.

Terrible, terrible place to live. I hear California is where New Yorkers want to go...

“”Dude, so far all the folks we know who have left or are planning on leaving are conservatives. Not everyone in NYS is a loony lefty.””

This doesn’t look like a discussion/argument we’ve going to win...According to most of the posts here, anyone moving out of any state is a liberal and watch out - will turn any state they move into BLUE! We retired in CA 13 years ago, moved to GA, brought our politics (conservative) with us and possibly no liberals have moved into the state since then to change it. Whatever!

Absolutely true. Although there are quite a few people at Fort Drum just east of Watertown in the US Army that probably tend to vote Republican.

I just remember the US map that somebody put out for the Bush/Gore election that showed how much more land mass area had voted for GW over Al. Even left leaning states are almost all red outside of the cities.

However, NY has liberal small towns out in the rural areas like Plattsburg and Ithaca because of the colleges/universities that dominate those communities.
Same thing here in NH. The bigger colleges: UNH Durham, Keene State and Dartmouth dominate their regional politics.

Even in your state of GA on your map. Look how much the population of Atlanta(light blue) dominates the rest of the state. You need more conservative northerners to move to Sea Island and Jekyll Island.

Build the wall!!!!!!.......around New York.

We need to implement screening at the border. Those who vote for all the socialist crap need to have their visa applications to red states rejected. They need to stay and fester in the chit they’ve created instead of coming to our states and ruining them with their Leftist politics.

Yep. Look what they are doing to Arizona. Used to be true red. Heading blue very fast.

Ding ding, a winner, we have a winner here! Gun ownership requires a change in perspective. More responsibility. I would also require land ownership.

What that map shows is that Dimmocraps have stacked key urban counties with immigrants legal and now illegal to gain a political superiority. It is dependent on their opposition remaining civil. If the red people stop being civil the structural flaw in putting their supporters in dense packed counties becomes obvious.

If Cuomo is “sick to his stomach” over this, maybe he should check to see if it wasn’t a self-induced illness.

Please grow up. Not everyone who lives in a Lib controlled state is a Lib and thinks like a Lib.

...........................................................

Tell me about it. I live in Illinois. Retired union member and have never voted for a democrat in my life.

Part of the problem in GA is Atlanta. GA as a whole is 30% black and no matter how awful the candidate if it a black democrat 98% of them will vote Democrat. Atlanta is even more heavily black/democrat Plus we have a lot of “immigrants” who can’t possibly all be legal who vote Democrat because the democrats promise to steal more loot for the indolent from the hardworking than Republicans. If illegal immigration isn’t stopped this country will go into the toilet and every place will be like inner city Detroit.

Thanks for the comments, both added to the thread.

What idiotic thinking.

These sorts of threads usually have some of those comments - both of yours were not.

I’m shocked at how Hispanic the Hudson Valley has been becoming for years now; they are trafficking them in to replace places whites not only are abandoning now, but abandoned decades ago.

I took your post to be of the “if the shoe fits” variety, rather than accusatory...

Folks sure can be sensitive...

About 15 years ago we spent a couple nights in Peekskill on the east side of the Hudson. I also was surprised how almost everyone was Hispanic.

The other places that are surprising full of illegal immigrants are rural places where they work on dairy farms.
Also, a lot of the larger yogurt manufacturers factories are in NYS. I would not be surprised if those are full of illegal immigrants.

Even longer ago I took a ride up 9W on the west side and there was some kind of carnival in Newburgh - packed with newly-arrived Hispanics with tones of anchor babies. They are being trafficked here to prevent the rust-belt towns from reverting to nature...
