Uhmm...I hate to break it to the author of this piece, but Comey was also a political appointee who served at the pleasure of the president. The author slyly implies that Barr can’t be trusted because he is a Trump appointee.

Fortunately for him they have Federal corrections facilities that are able to care for prisoners with cognitive issues/dementia.

I can’t even put into words how disgusted I am by Comey. I hope he gets prosecuted for his calumny.

There was nothing honorable about Mueller.

You got that right.

Is Comey building an insanity defense?

He’s just trying to steer the conversation away from the fact that he made the Hillary decision when the call belonged to Lynch.

I don't think Lynch ever recused herself after the Tarmac meeting. If she had, the decision to prosecute would have gone to DAG Sally Yates. I think the plan at DOJ was to ignore the Hillary email matter and run out the clock until election day. Comey screwed up that plan..

I guess Comey and Pelosy don’t realize that Mueller tried to clean up their mess and he found it such an incompetent glaring messy he couldn’t save the swamp creatures and maybe Mueller wasn’t corrupt enough to do their dirty work.

How convenient. Comey is befuddled and confused now that it’s possible the sh!t will hit the fan and it’s blowing in his direction. It’s possible that he’ll commit himself to an asylum to give him protection via insanity. I want to see him fry.

'I can't quite understand what's going on'

You're clueless, Jim.

Maybe he should review his comments on why Hillary shouldn’t be prosecuted...for actual crimes against the Nation...

“The part that’s confusing is, I can’t quite understand what’s going on with the obstruction stuff,”

This guy was Obama’s head of the FBI, marinate on that a little bit.

I think Mueller is now pretty peeved with Comey for getting him into this mess to being with . . . and if Comey can’t come out and FULLY SUPPORT Mueller’s confusion that anger will DEEPEN.

Comey must apologize publicly or it will look like Comey is throwing Mueller under the bus and then all bets are off on Comey’s fitting for an orange suit . . .

Someone on another site put it this way...

If the laws are so convoluted that Mueller, the bestest, brightest, most honorable-est prosecutor in the history of prosecutors, couldn’t figure out if any laws were broken with regards to obstruction, just how in the hell is the average person supposed to know when they are breaking some law?

I still can’t wrap my head around the scenario where a POTUS can be charged with obstruction under our Constitution. By whom?

The prosecutor making such a charge has to be responsible to someone, and that someone is the duly elected POTUS. Else we have a prosecutor who is more powerful than the POTUS and accountable to no one. The remedy is that Congress would have to remove via impeachment, then it is still arguable that the next POTUS would be able to pursue the obstruction charge in discharging the duties of the POTUS, even if such duties involved his own interests. There are legal, ethical, and political questions. The mob wants to use the legal system to destroy their political opponent.

Anyway, as a prosecutor, Mueller should have known better. His job is not to say he could not exonerate. Either he has the evidence to indict or not. If not, then all he can say is he has insufficient/no evidence to charge. You are right, as powerful as he was, he was in a box. That’s why he wanted POTUS to testify voluntarily about something... He had nothing to compel him to testify.

Comey can’t understand why Mueller ain’t like him. An arrogant fellow who didn’t usurp the authority of Barr who is the duly appointed AG who was appointed by the POTUS and confirmed by the U S Senate.

What does that Proverb say: Pride goeth before a fall.

I believe a huge fall is in Comey’s future and I for one cannot wait to see it.

I think he did know better. He couldn’t make the legal case, so he is trying to give the Democrats an impeachment case.

Doesn’t matter one single bit what Mueller says.

Dems will still believe Trump colluded with Russia in 2016 which caused HRC to lose.

If not guilty, then who and how many have been bearing false witness? Needs followup action.

Perhaps Congress can legislate against bearing false witness with consequences as severe as the charges alleged against the innocent.

Mr. Mueller, the special counsel essentially punted on the matter, neither recommending that Mr. Trump be charged nor exonerating him

Prosecutors do not exonerate people.

"I can’t quite understand what’s going on with the obstruction stuff"

A deal has been made, boyo, to protect the Obama inner circle, and, unfortunately, you were not included.

Oh come on!

Comey did as he was told to do, and now he's expendable.
