Since Donald Trump Jr. first gave an impassioned and well-received speech in support of his father and conservative values at the 2016 Republican National Convention, rumors have swirled about his own political future. At a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for President Donald Trump on Thursday, Trump Jr. told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he would "never rule anything out" when it comes to potentially making a run for office.
"Right now, I'll never rule anything out," said the president's eldest son, according to Newsweek. "I do enjoy it. I like being in the fight. I like being in the mix. I like seeing, you know, the difference it's making to real working-class families all over the country."
"I get that I'm the son of a billionaire from New York City," he continued. "But, I think everyone knows and anyone who's seen me on the campaign trail knows, I have friends in flyover country. I've spent time with them over the years hunting, fishing, competitive shooting. All of those things. I mean, I actually spend much more time here than I do at the rubber chicken charity dinner circuit in New York City. These are my people. I get it."
"So, watching it make a difference to them, watching them recapture their American dream, that American Dream that's been exported to foreign countries, most of whom hate our guts, for the last few decades, that's a huge deal for me," Trump Jr. added.
While a political future of his own might be on the horizon for the magnetic figure, he made it clear that his first priority is helping his father. "I see what my father's doing and I'm just damn proud as an American to see those results and I'm going to keep fighting for him," Trump Jr. said. "I won't rule it out for myself, but first things first, we're gonna let him finish up strong."
The comments sure to hype conservatives come in the wake of Trump Jr.'s widely-covered Bloomberg Radio interview on Wednesday. "My father decided to get into politics at 68. Im 41, Ive got plenty of time," he said on-air.
Its unclear which office Trump Jr. might take on, but in 2017, he expressed interest in running for governor of New York, according to The Washington Examiner.
Trump Jr. first earned mainstream praise for his political prowess following his rousing Republican National Convention speech in the summer of 2016.
Covering the speech, Politico acknowledged that "a political star may have been born" on the night of the convention. "Donald Trump Jr. delivered a powerful testimonial for his father on the second night of the Republican National Convention, casting him as an everyman who hasnt forgotten his Queens roots while raising his own national profile on a high-stakes night," the report said.
Montel Williams, who is no fan of the president, remarked: "Perhaps Donald Trump Jr. should run? His speech was excellent."
David Axelrod, the former chief strategist for Barack Obama, noted that the "powerful speech" was deemed "a meaningful validation of his dad" by many folks he respects.
He's a brawler and has a long future ahead of him.
On a related note, is Eric Trump keeping a lower profile? I know he does the news programs as well but he doesn't seem to be getting as much exposure these days as his brother.
It won’t happen.
He’ll be doing 10000 years for colluding with Putin while they played ping pong and ate Doritos together.
I read here on FR that he is not eligible.
Back when I thought DJT didnt have a chance I thought the best thing to come out of it was Don Jrs political birth. Im all in on Don Jr./John James 2024.
Mayor of NYC! Please, please, please!
WTF NOT!

Birther retards, lowering the collective IQ of Free Republic since 2008.
Don't worry. He's eligible.
It’s a free country. So Donald Jr. can do whatever he wants. But please, no. Political dynasties usually don’t work out well for the country.
Examples: The Kennedys, the Bushes, the Clintons.
But on the other hand, I guess John Quincy Adams was OK.
I thought Eric was the most charismatic and a better speaker during the edition.
I think Eric is more interested in looking after the Trump business empire.
Don Jr has emerged as one of the outstanding figures in the political scene over the last 18 months. He has the wit of his father and has proven himself cool under pressure with a strong intellect.
He is a very, very strong prospect for 2024. Id take him over Pence every day
Don Jr could cause a MJOR media meltdown by running on the Democratic party ticket.
Yes, but in these cases, there weren't particularly big shoes to fill.
That would be sweet....An Upstate New Yorker
I read here on FR that he is not eligible.

LOL....... If you read it hear on FR it’s the gospel, for sure.
[Don Jr could cause a MJOR media meltdown by running on the Democratic party ticket.]
Ohhh..... imagine the fireworks If DTJr ran as a D AGAINST Pence in 2024???
It would be the first time in my life I’d ever pull the lever for a Dem!
LOL! I’ll take full credit for the prediction right here on FR! I also threw in Ivanka for good measure!
LOL trigger the libs so they have a complete meltdown
ROFLMAO!!!
Sounds like a slogan.
Just not a particularly effective one :)
My cousin worked for the Trump campaign 2015. Eric is a dude’s dude. Even the lowest staffer can approach him and talk to him if there are issues but Don Jr is the big shadow aside from Lewandowski when he was there.
“It would be the first time in my life Id ever pull the lever for a Dem!”
I will never do that but there may be exceptions. Such as me having Dem Gf’s back in college BECAUSE they were hot. Nothing else. However, i dont see any Trump family member going Dem.
