William Barr rejects Democrats' demands for Mueller report
The Washington Times ^ | April 4, 2019 | Jeff Mordock, Stephen Dinan

Posted on 04/04/2019 4:12:58 PM PDT by jazusamo

Every page of the nearly 400-page Mueller report contains information that cannot be made public and must be redacted, Attorney General William Barr said Thursday, explaining why he has not met congressional Democrats’ deadline for turning it over to them.

Frustrated Democrats fired back, saying they suspect Mr. Barr of covering up for Mr. Trump, and renewing their demands for quick release of the report and for the Justice Department to provide all of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative files to Capitol Hill.

In the meantime, Democrats said, Mr. Barr should immediately turn over summaries the Mueller team prepared, but which the attorney general did not release, instead writing his own four-page summary of the report’s conclusions.

“If there is significant daylight between his account and yours, the American people should know that too,” Rep. Jerrold Nadler, New York Democrat and House Judiciary Committee chairman, said in a letter to Mr. Barr.

Details about the summaries were first revealed in a curiously sourced piece late Wednesday in The New York Times.

The paper reported that “some” of Mr. Mueller’s investigations “have told associates” they were unhappy with Mr. Barr’s portrayal of their findings. The article attributes that finding to “government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations.” The Washington Post followed with its own similar report Thursday.

Mr. Nadler said he wanted answers.

President Trump, though, said the New York Times report was unworthy.

“The New York Times had no legitimate sources, which would be totally illegal, conceding the Mueller report. In fact, they probably had no sources at all! They are a Fake News paper who have already been forced to apologize for their incorrect and very bad reporting on me,” Mr. Trump wrote.

Ever notice how the sycophant media echo Democrat initiatives as DEMANDS while Republican efforts are ignored or discounted?

I’m hoping all copies of the report and every bit of supporting material have been incinerated.

If there was anything derogatory about Trump it would have been leaked chapter and verse by Mueller’s henchmen. The only leaks have been 400 pages and this patently fake “anonymous sources” BS. I think this will blow up in their faces. I doubt Barr is trolling them but with their actions they beg to be trolled.

Schumer and Nadler are attorneys. Perhaps someone should file a formal complaint with the Bar complaining they are publicly attempting to coerce a government official to break the law.

It’s similar but the first one stated the report “may contain” and this one states “does contain” and that AG Barr has rejected the Democrats’ demands for the Mueller report.

It also has more info.

Schumer has NEVER practiced law. He's a paper attorney.

Bet he hasn't registered in years.

“Release it. Let the public know the names, titles and associations of the Obama ‘Rats who concocted this attempted coup.”

Redact every word except Obama, Clinton, Clapper, Brennan and Strozk.

Don’t release this BS reoprt which is based in DIM &LIB perfidy. Instead, get a Spe ial Prosecutor to go after the traitors who attempted to throw a coup on the lawfully elected President.

Mueller did not indict. That is all that anyone is entitled to know. A criminal investigation is for the purpose securing a possible indictment, not to discover embarrassing information.

The paper reported that “some” of Mr. Mueller’s investigations “have told associates” they were unhappy with Mr. Barr’s portrayal of their findings.

Investigations telling things to their associates? I think I know what the author means: "Investigators." Or maybe some of those investigations are becoming self aware?
