A leading hostage rights group [The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation] caved in to pressure from the anti-Trump media and withdrew its prestigious “Freedom Award” from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, disinviting him from their awards banquet this week. According to a report in the Washington Examiner Wednesday, the group's "media partners" threatened to boycott the event if Pompeo got the award after keynote speaker, CNN's Christiane Amanpour, expressed her "concern." ... I went to their website. Their motto is “Inspiring Moral Courage”. Yeah right.
Isn’t Amanpour the one who recently asked Comey whether he should have done more to stop Trump supporters from chanting “lock her up”? Yes, I believe that is correct. I think Trump should offer her name for a “lock her up” chant at his next rally.
Who are “they”? These people have names! They must be exposed and confronted! They should not do this with impunity. It’s time to make them fear being exposed for who they are. Enough.
The only award I would give to Pompeo (or Bolton) is the Biggest Warmongers Award.
He won for ‘what he was going to do’. And then didn’t do what they expected.
These Stalinists want a one-party government, they are attacking from every direction to try to force conservatives out of the public square.

Thank you for your email. The January 11 decision with respect to the James W. Foley Hostage Advocate award is being mischaracterized by some media outlets. While it is accurate that our foundation intended to present our hostage freedom award to Secretary Pompeo until that date, we ultimately decided we could not present the award as planned due to the dramatic change in circumstances when the Administration did not press for genuine accountability from the Saudi government for the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. In addition to advocating for the safe return of American hostages abroad, the protection of free speech and promotion of journalists’ safety is a key pillar of our foundation and this award would have been in conflict with that key principle.
We thank Secretary Pompeo for his extraordinary efforts to bring Americans home and are grateful for all that he and this administration have accomplished to prioritize the return of our citizens. In particular we are thankful for the time he dedicated to meeting with families of American hostages on Tuesday. We look forward to working closely with Secretary Pompeo and this administration on these efforts to bring Americans safely home.
