leftists always complain about "price gouging" by private businesses

Bingo. Echoes of the ATM fee "scandal" that was well covered by Rush back in the 90s. People were demanding that "big banking" stop charging foreign ATM fees of $2.50, $3.00. Your electricity bill contains hidden taxes? You're paying hidden taxes every time you fill up your tank? Oh that's just benevolent government trying to raise revenue to take better care of us. It's ok when they do it.

Or the Governor who gets his a$$ carted to wherever he wants to go, adding to the congestion.

Wasn’t too bad until they flooded the tunnels downtown and changed the parking, early 1990’s?.
Went from bad to worse...

I had a company car and a parking spot in the building.
The company paid for the train, and I could adjust my hours to the schedule most days, so the train it was.

One day I noticed one of my guys coming in on a bicycle, I knew he lived in Arlington Hts. He would park in Greektown, just west of the Kennedy and ride the bike in.

Even days visiting some far off outpost of the company empire, much better than the city.

I HATE CHICAGO.

Cuomo is a true genius!!! Lol! I guess he hasn’t looked at what the fare rates are for the MTA!!!! I would always drive in and had a discount parking at a garage.

Many years ago (as a teenager—my summer “job”) I used to drive my grandfather a hundred miles to Manhattan to one of the hospitals for some medical stuff he needed done.

On the way home on one of the trips we were on the cross Bronx expressway. A car in front of me slammed on their brakes. I had less than a second to do something to avoid hitting them—no time to look, just a quick decision to do something, anything.

I swerved into the left lane—and fortunately no-one was there.

I still have nightmares about it.

That was the last time I ever drove into Manhattan.

What about taxis, Uber’s and such coming into Manhattan? More ultra-rich chumps ay Andy? They will collect way less congestion tax revenues tied into the budget =‘s greater shortfall. There’s no satisfying the ‘Rat consumption and wasting of taxes.

LA and SF politicians should be ashamed that NYC passed “congestion pricing” before they did. Do it for Mother Gaia.

The only line I remember from The Joy Luck Club applies here:

“You must leave this lopsided place.”

“Wasn’t too bad until they flooded the tunnels downtown and changed the parking, early 1990’s?.”

It was after the Great Flood. Before that you could walk underground in the winter from the heart of the Loop all the way to the Mag Mile if you knew your way around. There were shops and restaurants in the old coal tunnels back then.

I rather lucky as my office is adjacent to The Mart. Relatively cheap Early Bird is available pretty much right at my building.

“One day I noticed one of my guys coming in on a bicycle,”

One of my coworkers does that. He has a cheap bike with a very good lock that he leaves where he gets off the El and rides the rest of the way in. Pretty ingenious of him.

“Even days visiting some far off outpost of the company empire, much better than the city.”

Due to company policy I start most days in the office and then head out to see customers in the north and west burbs. It’s stupid but the mileage reimbursement is good and my boss doesn’t look too closely at my expense reports because he does the same thing. When it makes sense I take Metra in but I only do that when I must because I CC every single day. Metra frowns on that.

But concealed means just that. No one will know unless something really, really bad happens. Better to be judged by 12 and all that.

Best of luck to you. Things are going to get squirrelly in Chi Town once the weather warms up.

I’d say all 3 of those options.

Where is Korea town in Manhattan.

I seem to recall it being on or around West 30th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. It's close to MSG and Penn Station, and just south of Times' Square.

To be honest, I hadn't heard of it either before that trip, but we found a decent Days' Inn hotel there that didn't break the bank.

ya, when does antifa and the College professors and other mobs descend on the superrich in Manhattan to start screaming, red-faced protests and make a few filthy homeless shelters and sanctuaries there.

I’m trying to think of a reason why I’d ever want to go to any part of NYC. I have zero desire.

I had a non-accident like that here in Knoxville. I was driving west on our main drag, Kingston Pike in fairly heavy traffic and not paying attention as I should. Somebody in front of me suddenly stopped and I saw it just in time to put my brakes on and instinctively swerve into the left lane. Fortunately, nobody was there and I avoided a bad collision that would have been my fault. Now, with my 2018 Navigator, there’s a collision prevention feature that substantially reduces the chance of that kind of collision.

Even better, “will endure to the benefit of Manhattan real estate interests”. He will realize Donald Trump is a huge Manhattan real estate interest. What will he do then? Kill the idea because it helps Trumps business? Or let it live to get the money?
