I agree. Makes no sense. I used to be a democrat. I remember a friend asking me why I voted for democrats when my beliefs were more aligned with Republicans. Eventually, I figured out that I was no longer a democrat (a holdover from college, I guess).
I think of her being a Democrat in the same way Mueller is a “Republican”. In other words, since Mueller was a “Republican” the media was able to make people believe, “Well then, since Mueller is a Republican after all and he says Trump is a criminal, well then it can’t be just politics when Mueller says Trump is a criminal, because Mueller wouldn’t, couldn’t call Trump a criminal unless it was absolutely true that Trump was a criminal.”
In other words, it gives you more credibility if/when you say something unflattering about “your” party.

A Democrat will come out and tell you they want to tax you, they want to kill babies, and they want to gender-bully your children your kids until every last one renounces their DNA (this ACTUALLY HAPPENED to a kid in my Scout unit. The parents pulled him out of public school and put him in a Christian school).
The GOP clucks their tongues, shakes their heads, and utters in mordant tones, “That’s a shame,” as they sit back, light a cigar, and watch them rape your family.
Why not be a Democrat? Scoop Jackson was a Democrat, and so was Jack Kennedy. They’re to the right of most of the folks in GOP leadership right now.
Because she could not have gotten elected on the republican ticket, like so many democrats that run as republicans.
Two of my best pals are still demonRATS, and both voted Trump in '16 and can't wait to do it again in 2020.
Since both were big time union guys, there is no way that they will change their registration status.
There a lot of union demonRATs that love Trump and voted/will vote for Trump here in W PA.
