Yet another example of provincialism/small-mindedness in the press.
Guess what: EVERY child north of the Cali-Oregon border goes to school in the dark in wintertime.
Most adults drive to work in the dark there too. Some of us actually work long enough that we go home in the dark too!
Leaving the clocks alone will definitely end the twice-yearly spike in traffic accidents caused by the time change. THERE is a demonstrable benefit to ending the time change right there!
When told the reason for daylight savings time the Old Indian said, “Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.”
Unsolicited advice, but have you tried taking melatonin for a sleep aid? It knocks me out. Started off taking 10mg and was worthless the day after. Went to 3mg and often cut that in half. Works well here.

Well, unless all states in the same time zone make the change it will create a cluster of confusion to try and conduct business or figure out which state uses which time zone. The Tennessee/Virginia state line runs right down the middle of the city that I grew up in and I can just imagine the chaos if one state adopts the change and the other does not!! It should be nationwide or just leave it the heck alone!!
Heck - split the difference...next Fall, fall back 30 minutes and call it midnight for the second time that day...then leave it alone.

The East or the WEst?
Or both??
The state is in TWO time zones already.
The same goes for business; too!
Same as surface ships; ZULU time for all!

Does the Southern Hemisphere have DST?
If so, wouldn’t it be in REVERSE??
I think the chickens have it all figured out.
Blame the trains.
Everywhere was local sun time until the SPEED of travel increased so much.
THEN dst came along. Tiger Woods needed more light in the evening.
But the TIME ZONE didn't!
What time IS it?
I started school in 1944 and had the same schedule for all 12 years. Class began at 9:00 am lunch was 12:00 to 1:00 pm school was out at 3:00 pm. Never went to school in the dark and never arrived home after dark of course people were still sane at that time.
At what latitude?
